Diverse gaming

There are several ways of playing games, most people will pick a game and play this game until they've finished it or when they're done with it (they don't want to play it anymore). But do you know that there are also gamers out there that will actively switch things up? So one day they'll play this game and another day they'll play another game, sometimes they'll play up to four or five different games on one day. That probably seems exhausting to you but for some people this is normal.

What is diverse gaming exactly?

I don't think this is the official name for it but I call it diverse gaming because you keep things interesting and switch things up a bit, that should keep games from getting boring too fast and it keeps things a bit fresh. Because if you play the same game every day for a week then you're probably going to get tired of that game pretty fast, maybe it helps when you play with friends but if you play on your own games can get boring really fast if you play them too much. So if you switch it up you keep things fresh, you never really get attached to one game and it gives you the chance to play multiple games in a short time. Diverse gaming is a way of playing games that might not appeal to everyone but I think we've all done it at some point. For example you don't know which game you should play and you end up playing several games on one evening and you just can't decide which one you really want to play. This happens a lot with multiplayer games because sometimes you have a feeling for playing some first person shooters and the other moment you might want to play a third person shooter or something else. But there's also a chance that you want to play a single player game after some multiplayer games or vice versa.

What's the problem with diverse gaming?

The main reason why diverse gaming isn't for everyone is because some people prefer to focus on one game, they want to get into the story and learn all the controls and tricks on how to get better. If you switch to other games a lot then it's difficult to get into a game, learn the controls (because the controls in games can be completely different sometimes) and make some progress. So it might not be for everyone, but it's a good way to get through some boring months in Summer. Of course you can play a single player game and lose yourself in that, but after a couple of weeks you're probably done with that and you still have several weeks ahead of vacation. Maybe you feel like playing several single player games and try to finish them all but you could also try to switch things up, mix a bit and try to play different games each day. It keeps things a bit more interesting and hopefully gets you a bit faster through the boring months of Summer. But if you already have plans to make it through Summer then by all means use those plans, I guess we all have our own tactics.
