Dlc that breaks a game

I like dlc, I like getting new things and expanding my game world with new stuff. What I don't like is things that mess up my game, up to the point where it's unpleasant to play the game. For example with Dragon Age Inquisition I was playing the descent dlc and that is so buggy that it was almost impossible to play. So many broken parts where the game just freezes, where enemies are in walls or the game lags like crazy. The rest of the game is fine but the descent dlc is horrible! Which really makes you wonder, do I really need this?

Dlc can break a game?

It doesn't always break the game, but it can ruin things. For example a story that makes no sense and makes your character or other characters in the game look stupid or weird. What's probably the worst is when dlc gives you more questions than answers, because then you really have to ask yourself why the developers would put that in the game. It's for that reason that I don't always automaticly buy dlc and install it just like that, I first want to know what I'll get unless it's for a game that isn't strongly affected by dlc or when the developers have made some good dlc in the past so you have more faith in the developers when it comes to dlc. What really sucks is when dlc messes up your game up to a point that you can't even play it, which completely ruins everything. Because with all the bugs, glitches and other nonsense you really have to ask yourself if you want to keep playing or just stop.

Isn't dlc properly tested?

You would assume that it is but I guess some people test it better than others. What really surprises me if it's something big, for example going back to Dragon Age Inquisition the descent dlc there is a moment where you have to investigate bodies and somehow you can't. Apparently there's an enemy that spawns in a wall there and you somehow have to kill that enemy with area of effect attacks or you can reload a previous checkpoint or move outside the room and move back in but that means you have to fight all enemies again and hope that this time no enemies will spawn in a wall. It kind of gives me the impression that some dlc is made quickly and isn't tested properly, because a game should be fun and when things don't work then it's not fun at all! Of course something can always slip through the cracks but sometimes dlc has so many bugs and glitches that it just gives me the impression that it wasn't tested properly and so you get a piece of shit dlc that can ruin the game for you. So always be careful what you buy, because not every piece of dlc is fun or good for that matter!
