Batman: the Telltale games series

If you played one of the previous titles of Telltale games then you know how good these games can be. I mean just look at the Walking Dead game, the Wolf Among Us and the Game of Thrones game. These are all great games with interesting stories and characters, but what does this mean for the Batman game? Well it means that there will be a bigger concentration on talking instead of fighting, but that won't make this a boring game. I think that this gives you a unique perspective on the life of Bruce Wayne and Batman, something we haven't seen before in a game.

You play as Bruce Wayne and Batman?

Yes, during the day you play as Bruce Wayne and at night you play as Batman. This probably means that things are connected, so things you do as Bruce Wayne might influence your adventures as Batman and vice versa. So you can expect once more choices that will have a huge impact on the game and not everyone will like those choices. If this means you can make new friends and/or enemies remains to be seen but I doubt you can chill with the Joker if you say all the right things.

Are there other familiar names in the game?

From what I saw there are more familiar faces in the game. For example Alfred, Commisioner Gordon, Harvey Dent, Vicky Vale and Catwoman. How big their roles are in this game remains to be seen but I bet that I can expect some interesting conversations and maybe even fight scenes with some of these characters. Looking at Harvey Dent I'd say that this takes place not that far in the career of Batman so maybe there's no Robin (yet), but then again what do I know? I guess what we really want to know if we can flirt with Catwoman as Batman or with Vicky Vale as Bruce Wayne, probably beat up the Joker and do some cool stunts in fight scenes or maybe even driving around in the Batmobile.

Why should you be excited about this game?

Because it gives you a different look on Batman and the life he leads. You make important decisions and those decisions will affect everyone around you. How the Bruce Wayne part will be that important remains to be seen but I'm definitely interested in finding out. Because who wouldn't want to play the billionaire playboy? As you can expect from Telltale games it will most likely be a good story with some interesting choices, hopefully the choices won't be as intense as in the Walking Dead game but then again I wouldn't be opposed to some tough decisions. Episode one becomes available for download on the 2nd of August.
