Dead Island definitive edition

So far I haven't heard a lot of people that are actually happy with these games, because Dead Island definitive edition exists out of two full games and an arcade game. Probably because the games aren't that old and most people that played the Dead Island games don't feel the need to go back to these games on their new console. I'm not saying the Dead Island games are bad, but I can't say that the games left a lasting impression on me. They're fun to play with friends but alone it gets boring and repetitive real fast. Three games for the price of one? Well it's even cheaper than the price of one full game. I think that's going to be the best selling point, three games for the price of one. Maybe people who haven't played the games are interested but I can imagine that most people that already played these games on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 aren't interested in buying this definitive edition. But for those that are interested and want to ...

Overwatch tips and tricks

I see a lot of people in Overwatch that are often playing like idiots, mostly because they try to do a solo act when the enemy team is giving a teamwork performance and will utterly crush anyone that's dumb enough to stick to the lone wolf tactics. Of course you can have a good flanking move as a Reaper, annoy the defenders as Tracer, block the entrance or hold the point as Mei and waste enemies from a distance as Hanzo or Widowmaker. But you're still a part of a team and if there is no communication or teamwork then it becomes a lot harder to win, especially if you face a team that is communicating and working together! How do I become better Overwatch player? The easy answer is practice, but practice alone won't save you. You can practice all you want with certain characters but some are just easier to handle than others and you have to be honest to yourself and accept that some characters are just not your thing. For example I know I'm a terrible sniper and even ...

Sinful Sunday: Online hate, is it real?

I think we all had a moment online that we really dislike someone else, wether it's something they said or did, and sometimes this takes some drastic forms. For example moments were you're shouting, sometimes you type and other times in games with your headphones on, and maybe even making threats. Is this normal? Do you really mean what you say or is it just something you say in the heat of the moment? Let's take a closer look... What happens online isn't real? Some people actually believe that or consider that as an excuse to say what they want to say. But in truth what you say and do online is still real. Ok shooting someone in a game isn't real, but discriminating or threatening other people is real and it's wrong! I can understand frustration, but then taking it a step further where you deliberately want to hurt others with your insults is just taking it one step too far. I know that a lot of people feel they can get away with this type of shit but I rea...

Are you still playing GTA V?

I bet you don't play the campaign anymore but there are still quite a lot of people active in GTA V Online, at least as far as I've seen. Most of these people just roam around in free mode killing random players for no good reason other than just annoying people but there's still activity. But I did notice the amount of frustration and decline in popularity when it comes to GTA V Online, because whenever Rockstar posts an update on Xboxlive there's hundreds of messages that reflect the feelings of a lot of players. People want something new, but do they get something new? Actually yes, on June the 7th there's the Finance and Felony dlc (for free) where you can run your own criminal organization. What is the Finance and Felony dlc?  In this dlc you can create your own criminal organization and you can compete against others with your criminal organization. How this exactly works is unclear to me, because if that means you actually have NPCs working for you or if ...

Youtube adventures part 21

There a lot of different videos on youtube and that's a good thing, but sometimes there are videos on youtube that get a lot of viewers and those videos are absolutely shit. I'm not talking about a bad recording or videos that just don't load, no I'm talking about people that record themselves doing something completely random and talk about it. Yes I'm talking about... Vlogs. I personally dislike vlogs, mostly because I don't give a shit about the life of someone else like that. Ok if something has happened and they want to talk about it then that makes sense. But there are people that make a vlog of them eating something and they talk about that. What really surprises me that there are thousands, sometimes even millions, of people that watch this crap. Does that mean that there are a lot of idiots viewing videos on youtube or am I just missing out on an easy way to get views? The truth is that not everyone that makes a vlog gets views, so before you star...

Gamers are getting angrier?

Just looking at my own behaviour I have noticed that I'm getting angrier, but it's not just me because a lot of times I see and hear people getting angry over nothing. For example someone is trying to get an achievement but fails and that can sometimes lead to a lot of anger. But also getting killed twenty times by a camper in online multiplayer is usually something that can make you angry. Of course now talking about it doesn't really show how frustrating gaming sometimes can be, but I think most of us who have played games know that games can be frustrating. The increased amount of frustration brings more anger, which then leads to some angry gamers. Gamers have changed? In all honesty I can't say that I changed that much, I was always an asshole that got angry very quickly so I can't say that this counts for me. But I think that maybe some people have experienced some more negativity from gaming and perhaps have gotten more negative with that experience thems...

Overwatch, the best first person shooter ever?

That would be a lot of praise for a game that just came out, but the hype around this game and of course the pure fun you can experience when playing this game really makes you believe that sometimes. But it's not just fun, there is also frustration (in certain teams that don't work together and/or don't play for the objective) and anger when things aren't working out. As much as you might want to see this as a valid point I do think it's just an opinion, because one moment you enjoy the victory and the other moment you have to suffer a defeat. It's all part of the game! What makes Overwatch so amazing? It's pretty much the fun way of playing, because there's no brutal executions as you probably know from Doom multiplayer or too many sad campers as you would see in CoD multiplayer. It's just people playing as different characters and having a good time. Ok sometimes there are people that are lame, for example people playing as Bastion are really ...

Xboxlive, good or bad?

If you have to believe the haters, often trolls or Sony fan boys/girls, then Xboxlive is a piece of shit. But the fact is that Xboxlive is pretty stable, there's hardly any issues with it and you can usually play online without too much trouble. But how good is Xboxlive really and are there really no problems with Xboxlive? Xboxlive is good? When it comes to online gaming it's very good, I hardly ever have any issues with Xboxlive and if there are issues it's usually my own internet connection that's giving me problems or the game is having issues. I'm not saying that Xboxlive is amazing, but it usually delivers what you're asking for. Also the point system is great for everyone that doesn't like using or doesn't have a creditcard. There is a wide selection of games, add-ons and other entertainment you can download or try out on Xboxlive. Wether you want to watch movies, series or even sport if that's your thing. Wether you like to keep things si...

Sex is worse than violence in games?

At least that's the idea I get from some people, especially when you look at a country like the USA. Apparently some people freak the fuck out when they see a breast or even a nipple on screen, but when a head gets blown off or limbs get sawed off in a game then it's ok. Weird... Why is their such a fear for nudity and sex in games? I think some people fear that kids will copy what they see in games, so if they see people having sex in games then that might inspire them to have sex as well. At least that's what I think why some people are so, agressively sometimes, against sex in games. But if that's true then I don't understand why violence is accepted, because if kids copy things from games then violence would be just as much or even more feared and should definitely be forbidden. Unless some people would rather have their kid kill other people than to have sex. But the most important thing is that kids shouldn't even be able to play games that contain a l...

Sinful Sunday: Immature behaviour is taking over in games?

I'm not going to pretend that I'm a graceful winner, if there's an emote that I can do in the victory screen then I'll most likely do that emote. But just for fun, not really to annoy other players. Unfortunately there are a lot of other players out there that don't just stick to have fun, some really want to annoy other players up to the point that they rage quit the game. Which seems to become a trend these days and I can't say I'm a fan of that. Everything is permitted in a game? If you really believe that then you should read the code of conduct you would agree to with so much haste to play a game, because not everything is permitted! Of course there are no rules against being an asshole, at least if being an asshole means you do things that aren't against the rules. A popular annoying move is teabagging another player, this is very popular in Halo multiplayer but also Destiny PvP and CoD multiplayer is full of people that like to be that immatur...

Fallout 4 Far Harbor dlc

I've been looking out for this dlc ever since it got announced several months ago, because this gives you a new area with new missions and characters. I love that about Bethesda games where they give you new areas to discover and new characters to talk with or to fight against. Far Harbor dlc is huge, so you don't have to worry about being done in an hour or so. But is it worth getting it? I think it is! Far Harbor is huge? Yes it's huge, it gives you a big island you can explore and if you want to explore everything then you'll be busy for several days and I bet even then you wouldn't have found all places and all the things you can do. The main missions won't take you that long, except for one puzzle mission in Minecraft style that will keep you busy for a couple of hours, but all the side missions and other things you can do should keep you busy for quite some time! There's even a bit of a collectible hunt, a total of five books you need to find, and ...

Youtube adventures part 20

When you start with youtube you might have all these dreams or ambtions, but how much of that is left after a couple of months? I see a lot of people try to make it on youtube but most of them give up after some time, mostly because things aren't going so well as they first thought. I can understand that you're disappointed but you should realize that succes might not come within a month or even within a year, sometimes it just takes some time for people to find your channel and then you also need a bit of luck for sticking out in the ocean of youtube videos. My point is... Don't give up! I think a lot of people see the succes of some people on youtube and they would like that as well, but if that's the main reason for starting with a youtube channel then you're doing something wrong. It shouldn't be your ambition for succes that drives you, but it should be the fun you have in making videos for other people. That's what gets you through tough moments wh...

Games are more like movies now?

If you ever played a Metal Gear Solid game then you probably know what I mean, because the amount of dialogue and cutscenes in the Metal Gear Solid games is just ridiculous! Not that there is anything wrong with having a story in your game, but too much of something can sometimes have the opposite effect on players and instead of enjoying the game you quickly get bored with it or you just want to skip every cutscene and conversation in game. Perhaps some people do enjoy more dialgue and cutscenes in a game, but is this what future games should have or should we stick to just having action packed games? Why is it bad to have a lot of cutscenes in a game? In Final Fantasy I love the cutscenes, it was a moment where you could enjoy the story and see what the characters are up to when they don't fight random enemies on the world map. But now it feels like cutscenes are taking over, especially in certain games. This doesn't have to be a bad thing but the problem is that there ar...

How free are you in an open world game?

Whenever I play an open world or sandbox game I want to go my own way and do my own things, up to a certain point that's possible but there are always things you need to do or missions that kind of control your actions. Personally I don't like that, because an open world game should give you all the freedom there is up to the point where you decide what you do and how you do it instead of following some random npc and doing what he or she wants you to do. You get a lot of freedom in open world games, right? Sure, in some open world games you get a lot of freedom. But you're still just the guy or girl that has to follow orders and do what you're told. So why not make a game where you do whatever you want to do, which means you make your own missions and make your own way through the game. I guess that can be too much freedom for some players or make the game too chaotic, but I think it might actually work for certain games. Players can't handle too much freedom...

It's a big online gaming world

Do you remember the first time you played a game online with other people? It seems so normal now but I remember that at first it was a bit weird for me. I didn't freak out or anything but this choice to play with random strangers online was a weird experience and also playing games with your friends without having to invite them all to your place to play games together. As a console gamer I arrived late at the online gaming party but once you're there you just don't want to leave anymore! Playing games online is more fun than offline? That depends, because some games are made to play online while others are more for playing offline. It also depends what kind of gamer you are, because if you enjoy playing games with others then online gaming is probably your way to play games. But if you're more the lone wolf type of gamer then it wouldn't surprise me that you prefer to play offline games, even if you would play online games then you would probably still go your...

Payday 2: Crimewave edition

I wanted to buy this game already in 2015 but since I bought Payday 2 already for my Xbox 360 I didn't feel like spending fifty Euros on pretty much the same game but now for my Xbox One. But when I saw that the game was for sale I decided to buy it anyway and I must admit that I don't regret it. Oh sure it's still the same game but with a lot of extras and that makes playing it a lot of fun! What's new in the crimewave edition? One of the things that really surprised me is the new characters, I didn't expect that and they add some new faces and masks to the game. First you have Hoxton, if I'm not mistaken this was the name of the fourth robber (the one with the ghost skill tree) but apparently they changed his name to Houston, and he is a guy from England with a scar on his face. Then there's Clover, a woman from Ireland that seems to enjoy a fight. Another European addition is Dragan from Croatia, he's a former cop that now has a criminal career in...

Sinful Sunday: Big spender

Playing games is an expensive hobby, but anyone that plays games probably know that already. But did you also know that some people spend more than they actually have? This causes some serious problems for them and lead to some nasty situations where they lose their stuff or have to move out of their house. Which is why you should always keep an eye on your expenses and probably plan a big purchase instead of just doing that on impulse. Why is it a bad idea to buy things on impulse? Because you might not have enough money for what you want to buy, it can really tip the balance against you and could mean that you don't have enough money to pay all the bills or buy enough food. I know that some people make sacrifices with that, for example some people just skip a meal every now and then, but it's not very healthy! If you buy a pack of gum or a candy bar on impulse then that's not a problem, but if you buy a new tv, computer or console on impulse then that can be a problem...

Doom (2016), you're a killing machine!

If you're just as old as me, maybe even older, than you probably know when Doom first showed up. It was in the time when playing games was still considered as something stupid eventhough most people would probably secretly play these games anyway. Doom was the kind of game that made it cool to play games, no family time nonsense but straight up killing monsters and demons with whatever weapon you could find! Doom 4 (now just called Doom) is a reboot of the Doom series and makes you the killing machine you probably always were deep inside. Is the reboot an improvement? Of course it's easy to say yes, sure the graphics look a lot better (duh) and also the gameplay is pretty sweet but does a game like Doom still belong in this time? Not that I want to talk shit about Doom but the game is pretty old and a reboot really makes you wonder if they should've just made an original gory first person shooter. Well I think that the Doom reboot is pretty good, it gives you the classi...

Youtube adventures part 19

When you make a channel on youtube and start uploading videos it's up to you if you want to show the viewers who you are or if you want to stay anonymous. It makes sense that you at least let people know who you are but there are definitely succesful youtube channels where the youtuber hasn't revealed himself or herself and still get a lot of views on their videos. Because it doesn't really matter who you are, as long as people like your videos you should be getting a lot of views. But sometimes it really doesn't hurt to... Reveal yourself to your viewers. Some people might start on youtube with their face on the thumbnail of the video and you would know immediately who made the video and who the person is that's talking in the video. But some people prefer to start anonymous, usually later they'll reveal themselves and the mystery is solved. I think the viewers often prefer it that way, that you reveal yourself so they know whose videos they're watching...

Rainbow Six Siege: Dustline dlc operators and map

It's been some time but we finally get some more new operators in Rainbow Six Siege, this time it's two Navy SEAL operators. One attacker and one defender, Blackbeard with his guns shield and Valkyrie with her sticky cameras. Surprisingly they're both pretty good and fun to play! Why surprisingly? When I look at Buck from the Black Ice dlc I wasn't too impressed when they announced the gun shield, I thought it would be another attachment for your gun and be just as much underwhelming. But I was wrong, Blackbeard is very useful and Valkyrie can give additional support with her cameras that everyone on the team can use. So these new operators can really make a difference! Blackbeard. This guy doesn't just look tough, he is tough! The moment he puts his gun shield on his assault rifle he's going to be tough to take down in a straight fight. So flanking or using your C4 will become very important if you want to survive against this guy! He moves slower when he u...

How do you play games?

There are many ways to play games, for example there is  the full experience where you try to do everything you can in the game and invest a lot of time in playing the game, then there's the achievement/trophy hunt playstyle where you focus on getting all or most of the achievements/trophies in a game and then there's the quick playthrough where you just want to beat the game as fast as possible and then move on to the next game. There are probably more playstyles but these three are most common in my opinion. What is the best way to play games? Oh you think I can answer that for you? Well it's not that simple, because depending on who you are it's difficult to say that one way is better than the other. Because if you enjoy playing games but don't have a lot of time to play them then it's easy to say that you go for the quick playthrough but then you would miss out on a lot of stuff, so you might want to go for the full experience but that will take you a lo...

Overwatch vs Team Fortress 2

I've seen some people compare Overwatch with Battleborn but I don't think those two games should be compared because they're very different. But Overwatch reminds me a lot of Team Fortress 2, a game I really like and even up to this day I still play sometimes, so it makes more sense to compare it to Team Fortress 2. So the question is, which game is better and more fun to play? Overwatch is pure fun? That's how I first saw it, but I learned  that Overwatch definitely has a competitive side and if you face certain teams then you will learn that fun can easily turn into frustration! But that doesn't make Overwatch a bad game, it makes a game you have to learn and with practice you get better at. Especially if you find some characters that work well with your playstyle. So if you enjoy charging into battle then Reinhardt might be your type of character but if you prefer to flank more then Tracer and Reaper are more your cup of tea. If you like to heal and stay in t...

Teamwork means winning?

A lot of time when I play multiplayer games I end up in random teams, I'm ok with that because I'm a random player usually playing solo in multiplayer. The trick is finding a team that wants to work together, which is a lot harder then you might think! Mostly because in a team of random people there is little to no communication, people often go for selfish gains (getting a good k/d or just trying to get a lot of kills) and hardly ever stick around eachother. It probably won't surprise you that these random teams often get wiped out pretty easily by a team that does work together. So you shouldn't play with random people? Well for some people it might be difficult to play then, because not everyone has a group of friends that loves to play the same games as you on the same console. So it might be difficult for some people to find a team, even if you look online and try to form a team there. It's probably better to just try your luck in random matches and try to ...

Sinful Sunday: Gamers are whiners?

I can definitely understand that sometimes you're upset, you don't like something and sometimes you have a feeling to express this. But then I look at the messages under the notifications of DC Universe Online and I see some of the saddest sacks of shit whining about things. Let me remind you, DC Universe Online is a free game that you can install and no one forces you to do that. You don't have to pay for a thing and yes it sucks if you have to wait in a queue but the developers are working hard on that and they've definitely improved things. But do the get appreciation for that? Nope, it's just more whining. At this point I get the idea that a lot of people on Xboxlive are actually babies. When something doesn't work or works badly then you're allowed to say something about it, right? Absolutely! I would even encourage people to let the developers know if something doesn't work or if there's something you don't like about the game, but ther...

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, the most hated CoD so far?

After CoD Ghosts a lot of people weren't happy with Infinity Ward (the developer of CoD Ghosts and also CoD Infinite Warfare), so it probably wouldn't surprise you that not everyone was super excited about Infinity Ward making the next CoD game. But there was still a little bit of hope that the developers would bring the series back to the past, some World War II action and slower paced action in multiplayer. But Infinite Warfare brings CoD even further into the future and that means more futuristic stuff and fast gameplay. So you can imagine that a lot of fans are hating the game already, but are they right to hate the game already? I don't think so! Why is it wrong to hate CoD Infinite Warfare already? First of all because none of us have even played it, we saw a trailer and that was all you got. Once again a lot of people immediately hate the game without having a clear picture of what this game exactly is. Sure some might not like it because it's futuristic but ...

Youtube adventures part 18

When you first start with youtube you're pretty much anonymous, but the more subscribers and views you get the better the chance becomes that someone will recognize you. Which can be fun if someone freaks out when you're in the same game as him or her, but sometimes it can also be annoying when people are desperately trying to get your attention or will constantly try to kill you in the game just to ruin your recording. This raises a question. How do you deal with recognition? As I mentioned before, if your channel is new and it's pretty small then I doubt there will be many issues for you when it comes to recognition. I mean there is always a chance that some fans track you down in a game, especially on consoles you can see what kind of games someone is playing and also on Steam if I'm not mistaken. But I doubt that with a small channel people will go out of their way to play games with you, freak out when you play a game with them or that they want to be in a vide...

Fallout 4 Far Harbor dlc, it's the best one so far?

Have you seen the Far Harbor dlc trailer? It looks very interesting and if I have to believe the story around the dlc then it's probably going to be the best one. Sure it's fun to build your own robot companion and sure it can be fun to put raiders in an arena fighting a deathclaw but I think most people just want a new story where they can play more with their character and discover new things. Not that there is anything wrong with some random activities but most people really enjoy story progression. Is this dlc post game story progression? No I don't think so, because your companion Nick Valentine is with you. Maybe you can also take other companions with you but I haven't seen any in the trailer so that might not be possible. But the story takes you to Far Harbor, an island near the coast of Maine, where you have to find the missing daughter of a woman. So this could easily be a mission in between, but not just any standard mission! The dlc is pretty big and wil...
