Shameful achievements/trophies

There are games that you probably don't want to play, maybe not because you don't like them but because you don't want others to see that you're playing that game. I think this definitely counts for guys, because men can be pretty sensitive to these type of things. Mostly because guys prefer not to be seen as a child or as a the type of guy who plays games that are more designed for girls. Not that it's forbidden to play Barbie games but seriously as a guy you don't want others to find out that you play those games and unfortunately on your profile you can see which games you have played. But sometimes it's not even the game that has to be embarrassing, sometimes there are also achievements or trophies that have the same effect. Unfortunately people can also see which achievements and trophies you have unlocked, so you might want to think twice before you want to get an embarrassing achievement or trophy!


What makes some achievements/trophies so embarrassing?


It usually means that if you got that achievement you did something that people will find weird or just laugh at you for doing that. For example looking under the skirt of Juliet in the game Lollipop Chainsaw or kissing twenty guys in the game Bully (aka Canis Canem Edit). I'm not saying that this is wrong but some people will probably make fun of you when they know that you did this and they can see that you did this if they check your achievement or trophy list. I know that some people aren't bothered with this but there are people who are bothered with that, because it sucks when people make fun of you just because you got an achievement or trophy.


So do you get these achievements/trophies or not?


Well that's up to you! I mean I can't decide for you, even if I could I probably still wouldn't do it. If you are ashamed for a certain achievement or trophy then you probably shouldn't get it if you're that afraid people make fun of you for that. But if you don't care then by all means get the achievement or trophy. I personally don't see the problem, because what you do in a game doesn't have to mean anything. So you look under the skirt of a girl in a game, does that make you a pervert in real life? I don't think so, it doesn't have to mean anything! You play as a male character and you kiss other guys, does that make you gay? I don't think that has to mean anything, because what you do in a game doesn't mean that this is who you really are. Besides sometimes you just want to get an achievement or trophy, it doesn't have any more meaning than that! Oh you could get all the other achievements or trophies except the one that could be embarrassing for you, but I think that would be a shame if you miss out on one just for that.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet!
