Cuphead, maybe one of the best games ever made?

Perhaps you're thinking right now, who or what the fuck is Cuphead? Well Cuphead is a game where you play as a guy with a cup as a...well the name kind of explains itself I guess. What's so interesting about this game is that it looks like a classic cartoon from the early days of cartoons, which means I'm talking about the 1930's. For example cartoons like Steamboat Willie and the wise little hen. So to play a game in that style is pretty unique and I think a lot of people are interested and excited about this game.


People like classic cartoons?


Well that would be an easy answer to explain the popularity for Cuphead, but I think it's also because this has never been done before. There might have been a part in a game when you're in a cartoon world or some games that have a more cartoon look than realistic look but nothing like Cuphead. This game looks like a classic cartoon and yet looks amazing, I mean if people from the 1930's would've seen Cuphead then they would probably shit their pants of excitement and joy, eh...well something like that at least. But the game looks abslutely amazing, it also play pretty interesting with some brutal bosses and challenging gameplay. I guess it's a good thing you can have a friend with you in the game that can help you, this person will play as Mugman (ok the names are probably not super but then again it does fit with the 1930's cartoon theme) and they can revive eachother if they run out of lives.


This game is challenging?


It certainly looks that way, I saw some gameplay where someone faced a couple of bosses and those are no joke! You need to get good with dodging, shooting and learning all the moves of the boss to stay one step ahead. I don't think it will be as bad as Dark Souls but I think Cuphead will have some frustrating bosses as well, but then again what is a good game without a boss that can fuck you up? Besides people seem to like games that are challenging and there is an easy mode in this game, eventhough one of the developers mentioned that easy mode is more like normal mode and normal mode is more like hard mode. Sigh...


Why are you so excited about this game?


I grew up with cartoon characters like Donald Duck so you can imagine that I love seeing this classic cartoon style in the game. Even if you're not a fan of that you still have to admit that the game looks beautiful! It's also fun that another player can join and you have some classic on the couch co-op gameplay, now that's something you don't see in every game anymore either. It's also nice to get back in a game that's different, because playing another first person shooter, rpg or third person shooter gets old real fast if you do that for a couple of years. So yeah I'm looking forward to playing Cuphead, if only I knew when it would launch...

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
