Gears of War 4 multiplayer vs Gears of War 3 multiplayer
After spending quite some time in the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta I can't help but recognize certain situations and certain gameplay, but at the same time there are also new tricks and that can lead to some nice moments in the game. But is Gears of War 4 multipayer really an improvement of Gears of War 3 multiplayer? Let's find out!
Gears of War 3 multiplayer is the best?
That's how most people see it and it will be difficult for Gears of War 4 multiplayer to top that, but I don't think that Gears of War 4 multiplayer is really trying to do that. I think that Gears of War 4 multiplayer is giving you a fun experience and if you happen to like that more than Gears of War 3 multiplayer then that's not a bad thing. What I like about Gears of War 3 multiplayer is that it's fast and brutal, something I can also say about Gears of War 4 multiplayer. Eventhough this is just the beta you already find yourself in a match quickly and the matches don't take that long to be honest, most of the matches I played were done within ten minutes and sometimes it wouldn't even take five minutes. Maybe some people hate that, but I actually like it because dragging a match on and on isn't fun, just make it quick and fun!
Gears of War 4 has some new tricks?
There's the new game mode called dodgeball, the idea here is that when your character is dead then you're out but if someone on your team kills a character on the other team then one person who died on your team is back in the match. This means that you can keep eachother busy for quite some time and if you play smart you can destroy the enemy team systematically. But at the same time one surviving member on a team could bring back his or her entire team if they play careful or have a power weapon that destroys the other team. Talking about power weapons, a new power weapon in Gears of War 4 is the dropshot that shoots an explosive and that travels in the air and drops straight down the moment you let go of the trigger. I discovered the hard way that it's not smart to let go of the trigger directly because then you blow up into pieces! It's a good way to flush out someone who's in cover or surprise someone that isn't paying attention. Then there is also the cover grab, when you and a player on the opposite team are on opposite sides of the cover then you can grab that person and pull him or her over to your side. This offers you a short window of dealing some damage while he or she is stunned for a second. If someone isn't paying attention then this can be an affective way of dealing with someone who waits for you in cover. Just remember that this works both ways so don't be surprised if someone grabs you!
So is Gears of War 4 multiplayer better than Gears of War 3 multiplayer?
I think it's too early to say, because we only get two game modes in the beta and just a small taste of what's to come. But so far I'm having a good time playing the game and I think that this is a good thing, because I really got tired of Gears of War multiplayer in Gears of War 3 and Gears of War Judgement. Don't be surprised to see people running around with their shotguns or running towards the power weapons at the start of the match, but this is pretty much the same in Halo multiplayer and I think it's just part of the community. Then again people that are dumb enough to run around with shotguns are an easy target for anyone that spots them from a distance with the lancer. I think that Gears of War 4 multiplayer will be a lot like Gears of War 3 multiplayer, mostly because you'll face the same type of people as you did in those games so the experience will be mostly the same. But if Gears of War 4 will add a lot of new weapons and game modes then that might definitely work well for that game. I'm certain some 'fans' will already say that Gears of War 3 multiplayer is the best, but let's first see how good Gears of War 4 multiplayer will be once it launches on the 11th of October 2016. Until then Gears of War 3 multiplayer can hold the crown, but there's no guarantee that Gears of War 3 multiplayer will hold that crown once Gears of War 4 multiplayer is fully unleashed!
