Sinful Sunday: Women in video games are eye candy?

I can´t help but be a bit surprised that the latest trailer of Metal Gear Solid V created such an amount of complaints about what the character Quiet (female sniper) wears in the game. Sure it´s a bit revealing but looking at games these days it´s nothing new and to blow this up as if it´s terrible is just ridiculous! But maybe as a guy I just don´t understand, well I´m going to talk about it anyway!


In video games men are bad ass and women are sexy? I bet that´s what some people think and in some games this comes pretty close to the truth, but I don´t think this counts for every game. It is ridiculous that the ultimate armor for guys is usually some heavy plate armor while women are walking around almost naked with some heavy plate underwear. Of course that´s stupid and I´m not saying that this is right, but to blow this up as if it´s the worst thing ever is even more stupid. If you don´t like it then don´t play it. It´s like everyone is online these days to find things they don´t like or don´t agree with and then start to whine about it in the comment section.


Don´t people have a right to their own opinion? Absolutely! Of course you can have your own opinion, but when this opinion is stated as a fact and has to be broadcasted on every video on youtube or every forum that has any form of activity then it becomes just an annoyance. Then you´re not getting anywhere near of what you´re trying to do, that is if you´re actually serious with your complaints and not being a troll. If you really want things to change then don´t rant like a madman in the comment section or on a forum, people won´t take you seriously and it will only attract more people to a certain game because there seems to be boobs in that game.


So in a way men are disgusting? Yeah I´ve never heard that before, I guess there are some fine examples that would fit that description but to say that all men are like that is stupid. Instead of pointing fingers and calling eachother names you can also just ignore it and play games. Why do you let these things bother you so much? Does this ruin the game for you? Is a half naked woman really the part in a game where you turn your console off? I´m sorry to say but I don´t think they´re going anywhere, so instead you want to waste time on trying to fight that you could just accept it and try to enjoy the game or play games that don´t have ´mature´ content.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. When I play a game with my friends then I'm not being serious nor am I serious when I start up some random multiplayer match. Sure it's nice to win but it's not everything! Hack and slash vs turn based games

This might not suprise you but I´ve always been a fan of some mindless slaughter in games, it´s the perfect way of blowing off some steam and relaxing. At least for me. It doesn´t take a great mind to figure out the controls and even if you just press random buttons you´ll probably make it pretty far in those games. But these type of games aren´t meant for thinking everything through, here you just go in and kill every enemy you face. But then I played Final Fantasy VII, what a game that is! From the moment I saw the opening cinematic to the point where I saw the credits I enjoyed playing that game. But it´s a timed turn based game, which means that the members of your team fight in turns and you´ll have to hurry because while you´re busy with selecting what type of attack or action you want to make with your character you´re also under attack from enemies that can disrupt your strategy.
