City of Heroes returns?
I think everyone that enjoyed playing City of Heroes has been waiting for some good news about this game and it seems that we´re one step closer to getting it! NCsoft is willing to give up the rights on City of Heroes so others can bring the game back to life, it seems like a neverending story but this is important to see things going the right way. So hopefully this means that City of Heroes will be back online as soon as possible!
What is City of Heroes? In case you´re not familiar with this game I´ll try to sum it up for you. City of Heroes is a game where you create a hero and then go on missions to save the city and become a stronger hero in the process. You can play with other players and form groups or even have your own super group and create your own base. But you could also make villains and do some less heroic things. The costume creator is probably the best one I´ve ever seen in a game, with so many choices and possibilities it really gave people with creativity a chance to go nuts! For me this is the mmorpg, I played it for more than five years and really enjoyed playing it. I hope that they can bring this game back because it´s a lot of fun!
Is your saved hero still available? Unfortunately it´s not, so even when City of Heroes is online again you´ve lost all your heroes and everything you did. That´s rough but at least you could start over, I expected as much so it doesn´t come as a big surprise to me. I do realize that for some people that´s just too much work to do it all over again, but just to be back in Paragon City and fly around stopping crime would be worth it for me. I just hope everything stays unlocked, all the stuff from dlc and packs you purchased. Now that would be lame if you had to pay for that again!
To be honest I don´t play a lot of pc games, but City of Heroes is one of those game I´d love to play again. It´s just a lot of fun and to share that fun with friends or even strangers, I´m not saying it´s all great but it´s a game you might want to check out if you like creating unique characters and have a thing for super heroes and/or villains. I´m really curious if the game will be online again, I´ll check it out for sure once it does!
