Hello Xbox One!
It´s been a long wait and now I finally got it! The Xbox One! Of course I could´ve imported it if I really wanted to, but I can be patient. I must admit that I was nervous, is everything in the box and will everything work? I don´t know why but I don´t have a lot of trust in electronic devices, they seem to break or just not work whenever I´m around. But the Xbox One is fine, eventhough I didn´t get an ethernet cable with my console I still had the one I used for my Xbox 360. To keep it short, I like the Xbox One!
So how does it feel to play on the Xbox One? It´s weird, eventhough the controller is quite similar to the Xbox 360 it does have some slight changes to it. The same can be said about your dashboard, because you have no dashboard anymore! You press the guide button (the glowing button in the middle with the X on it) and you enter your Xbox home, this is where everything is and even in the middle of a game you can acces it if you press the guide button. This feels a bit weird to me and not everything is as organized and simple to find as the Xbox 360 dashboard but I guess it´s just a matter of getting used to. I´m also a bit less happy about the bumpers on the controller, they seem a bit stiff and you can´t press them as comfortable as you could on the Xbox 360 controller. But you can put your fingers very comfortable on the triggers, so that´s something I do like. The analog sticks are a bit shorter and smaller, which is a bit weird but it´s not impossible to work with. Once again this is something I´ll just have to get used to, but right now I do miss the Xbox 360 controller a bit.
And what about the games? Well I just played Dead Rising 3 so far and it´s a lot of fun, I´m pretty certain that this isn´t even the Xbox One at its strongest and it already looks pretty good! It´s a bit lame that you have to install the game before you can play it but guess what? You don´t have to wait until the console is done, after about 40% you can already play the game and the console will install the rest while you play it. Installing also goes pretty fast, so it´s not like you´re waiting for hours. As I mentioned before, you can easily press the guide button when you´re in a game and it takes you back to your Xbox One home. If you´re done you can leave at any moment and you´re back in the game with the blink of an eye, so that´s pretty cool. But getting back to Dead Rising 3, it´s a lot of fun and I really enjoyed killing thousands of zombies on the screen. It´s amazing how it all works and I don´t even care, it looks awesome and it´s a lot of fun!
Would you recommend the Xbox One to anyone or should they buy the Playstation 4? I think that´s up to you, I´m not going to tell you what you should or shouldn´t buy. But for me it was simple, I played for eight years on my Xbox 360 so it only made sense to me to move on to the Xbox One the moment it became available. So anyone that has also played (a lot) on the Xbox 360 might want to play on the Xbox One, it´s fun and it gives you acces to the newest games with everything looking pretty good. The Xbox One will have some interesting exclusives, for me that will be the Master Chief pack and Halo 5 but Quantum Break also looks interesting. So you might want to keep that in mind when you choose the Playstation 4. Of course you can buy both consoles, but I don´t think everyone has the time and/or money for that!
Anyway I hope you´ll have as much fun with your new console as me, if you haven´t bought a new console then I hope you can enjoy playing games on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 for a long time!
