YouTube sponsored videos, you can't trust them?

How many times have you not seen a YouTube sponsored video and wondered if the YouTuber actually likes the game he or she is sponsoring? Oh sure he or she will say that the game is great but keep in mind that they're pretty much expected to be positive about the sponsored game. The best way to figure out if the sponsored game is really that good is if the YouTuber also plays that game when he or she isn't sponsored to play that game. So if he or she never plays the game again then it's safe to say that the game is probably not as amazing as he or she wants you to believe.

Why do people make sponsored videos?

That's simple, it's because they get payed to do those videos. But some YouTubers say that they only accept sponsors from things they like or believe in. So if they think that a game is bad then they don't want to make a sponsored video about that game. That's at least what you would have to believe, if it's true that remains to be seen because people say all kinds of things. Besides actions speak louder than words. But I don't blame YouTubers for making sponsored videos, it's good business where you get to play a game, which could be fun, and you get payed for it as well. If the game is bad or just not your thing then that means you have to put up a show and pretend because you can't make bad publicity. Once you sign the contract you have to make the video, so it's not that you can weasel your way out. I don't hate YouTubers for making sponsored videos, I hate the lies and the pretending to like something. Because some people that like this YouTuber might buy the game and they might end up with a shitty game because captain dipstick told them the game is great. This is why you should always do your own research and figure out if you like a game or not. Sponsored videos are great for the YouTuber, usually not that great for the viewers.

Does the YouTuber really like the game or not?

That is the question and it might be a difficult one to answer if you don't know him or her personally. Because anyone could pretend to like something and make a video about what they supposedly like but in truth it remains to be seen if this person actually like the thing he or she is sponsoring. Which is why I would advice you to check more videos, does this person play this game ever again or is it just the one or two sponsored videos? It's of course possible that the YouTuber doesn't want to make videos about his or her playthrough in that game but considering that everything you do in a game could be content it would be odd that someone wouldn't record anything in the game after the sponsored video(s) that he or she supposedly likes. This is why sponsored videos are only good for two things in my opinion. The first thing is the obvious one it's a way for you to see some gameplay which is definitely useful for you to determine if you're interested in the game or not. The other thing is that you could watch the video because you like the YouTuber and he or she has some funny content. So it could be enjoyable to watch the video, eventhough it's sponsored. It's easy to give the YouTuber hate but he or she also has to eat and I don't blame them for making sponsored videos. I do blame YouTubers for trying to sell a game they don't even like that much. I understand they have to make a video and they have to make it look good, but maybe first think before you leap because if you have to make a sponsored video for a game you don't even like then you're not just lying to yourself you're also lying to all your viewers and I really don't like that!
