Online mutliplayer behaviour, gamers are stupid?

Sometimes I hear people about a study where it shows how gamers have a higher intelligence than people who don't play games and they also have a higher level of concentration than people who don't play games. That's all great but is this actually true? I want to believe that, but when I look at myself I can't say I feel smarter than the average person who doesn't play games and I can't say that I have such a high level of concentration. When I look at an online mutliplayer lobby in a game then I can't say that I'm struck in awe by the intelligent conversations there or behaviour that makes me think like someone is having a stroke while playing the game considering the weird movement and things he or she is doing. Are gamers really that smart? Well let's try to figure it out.

Gamers are morons?

That's harsh and not true. Why? Because you can't put all the gamers on one pile. For example your average CoD or Battlefield fan boy or girl isn't going to be the same person that plays the Sims 4 or Life is Strange Before the Storm. There are different people in the world and also different type of gamers. Some people just stick to single player and some people prefer to stick to multiplayer. Some people play with friends and others play mostly on their own or with strangers. It's easy to say that someone that plays a lot of online competitive multiplayer is a moron, but you do realize that not everyone is the same. Some people might act like a moron but online behaviour isn't usually a good representation of who you really are. But sometimes it's exactly who you are. The problem is that you can't always see that or know that just by playing a game with someone online. When I enter a Fortnite Battle Royale match and we're waiting for the match to start I see a lot of people run for the guns and start shooting eachother. That's dumb behaviour because they can't do damage in the waiting area, but perhaps it's not that dumb because they're already warming up and get ready for the match. At the same time you have people that just slash other people with a pickaxe constantly and I can't think of any reason why that makes sense. So yeah there are morons online, some gamers are morons but I wouldn't be too quick to judge others and besides if they truly are morons then it should be an easy match. So why would you complain? Oh right if they're on your team, yeah then you're in for a bad time.

Don't be too quick to judge?

When I play games online with strangers I will often hear people talk shit about me or others. Apparently everything you do is wrong and the word noob is almost used in every sentence they say. That is when you can actually understand what they say because you often have to deal with people that mumble, have a shitty mic or squakers. Not really my favourite way to spend the afternoon but in some games you just can't seem to avoid these type of people. As easy as it is to judge these people it's not all bad. I was in a team in Fortnite Battle Royale and two of them were kids and they were nice. They don't yell, blame others and actually thank you if you pick them up or give them an item. I've had similar experiences in Rainbow Six Siege, this kid from Sweden that was actually quite friendly and kept the team spirit up with jokes even when things weren't going so well. So yeah it's easy to judge and say that certain people suck and you wouldn't want to play games with them. But not everyone is the same, not all gamers are exactly the same and I really don't like it when everyone is shoved in one box with the same label on it. Yes there are dumb gamers but does that make all gamers dumb? By that logic all humans must be the worst beings ever to have lived in all existence. Maybe that's a bit over the top but honestly dumb logic gets you to say dumb things, I guess it can't be helped! The thing is that you don't have to be friends with everyone nor do you always have to be super social or friendly. Just play the objective, try to be helpful and keep it clean. Otherwise you might want to stick to single player because multiplayer already has enough douchebags running around in it.
