Sinful Sunday: Thinking you're better than someone else
It's easy to think that way actually, sometimes you might not even realize it but this is sometimes something that can sneak up on you. The feeling that you're better than someone else, you might think you have the moral high ground but this type of feeling is just wrong. Nobody is better than someone else, we're all just people that try to make the most of things in this world. Is one person truly better than the other? I don't think so!
You're not better than someone else?
Sometimes I hear people talk about how they don't eat meat, they drive in electric cars and they're helping other people in their spare time. That's all great but that arrogance to think that this makes them better than others is just something that ruins all that. I know not everyone is like that but I've heard some people talk about how they're pretty much saints and I like to mock them by asking them where their statue is going to be placed. There is nothing wrong with taking care of your own body, trying to take care of the planet and trying to take care of other people but if you do that for your own gain or to elevate yourself in society then you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Modesty is worth so much more than arrogance and yet so many people fall for arrogance, I guess arrogant people are just louder. But no matter how many good thing you do you're not better than someone else. This might not be something some people can or want to accept but it's the truth. You might feel better but in the end we're all people.
Why do some people feel better than other people?
There could be several reasons. Some people have this feeling because they're rich, others feel that way because they have influence in society and then there are people who just feel that way because they think they're special. I know it's so easy to look down on others, to feel more important and just better than someone who might not have a lot of good things happening in his or her life but does that give you the right to look down on them? Some might think that it does give them that right, I think that this means that you could lend a hand and try to help instead of judging them. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins and it might be one of the worst, probably because a lot of people don't realize how dangerous that sin is. Even in the world of gaming this is a thing, people looking down on other people because they play on a certain console or play certain games. As if it's a crime to play on a console or play games that you enjoy. My advice for you is to live your own life and not try to look too much at other people what they have. Be happy with what you have and if you lead a good life then be thankful for that and don't let arrogance blind you!
