When it takes forever for a game to launch
Some people might not realize it but as a gamer you need a lot of patience, that doesn't mean that every gamer has patience but it doesn't take away the fact that patience is a very useful thing to have and not just as a gamer but for everything else as well. Gaming is fun and it can give you so much for sometimes so little, but not looking at the prices for certain games or dlc there is another negative side to gaming. You often have to wait forever for certain games to launch!
Why do you need to wait so long for games?
Considering that I'm not a developer I would have to guess and my guess would be that a game needs to be launched in good condition. You don't want to be the developer that launches a game full of bugs and glitches. Sometimes it can be a pain in the ass to get all that crap out of the game and somehow some of that crap still sneaks its way into the game anway. Besides creating a game is a big process, it's not something you do in a year. Just look at games like Dragon Age Inquisition or Fortnite, these games have been in development for a long time and the result? Well that depends on how you look at it. Dragon Age Inquisition is a pretty good game, a lot of fun to play and hardly has any issues that I'm familiar with. Fortnite on the other hand has a lot of issues, but to be fair the game is still in closed beta which means that it's still being worked on. Let's just hope that when the game become free to play that all the issues are fixed and we can all enjoy playing that game. Developers will often delay their game when it's not ready, which makes sense because why would you launch a game that is full of bugs and glitches? Then a lot of people will get mad and that's just bad publicity. So you want to make certain that your game is good, that it's fun and that everything is working as it should. This means it needs to be tested when you're done with the game and if the testers find bugs and glitches then that first needs to be fixed before the game can launch. Of course it's easy to get mad at the developers for delaying the game but they often have a good reason for that!
How long do you need to wait for a game that has already been delayed?
That really depends on what needs to be fixed, tested and if their are bugs and glitches in the game it needs to be fixed and tested again until everything works as it should. This means that if you're shit out of luck you could wait more than a year for a game, which sucks but trust me it's better this way than having a game that is full of bugs and glitches and you need to wait for patches to actually be able to play and enjoy the game. Of course I was disappointed when games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Vampyre were delayed but it's a good thing that these games get the treatment they deserve. Launching them too early means that there are still bugs and glitches in the game, which might be acceptable for some people but I honestly don't like that at all! I prefer that games launch on the date that they should launch and were announced to be launched but it's better they get some more care and be delayed than getting the game on the date that was announced and it's full of bugs and glitches. So having a lot of patience is a good thing if you're a gamer, because you often have to wait a long time for certain games and it will test your patience but it's better than the alternative!
