Sinful Sunday: Forcing people into party chat

Have you ever joined an online multiplayer game and someone or more than just one person keeps bugging you to join party chat? I've seen this happen multiple times and it's really lame when people do that. Because not only are they rude, for example they'll keep sending you messages with join asshole or accept noob, they also force you to do something you don't want to which is never ok! Of course it's better if you communicate but when your team mates are rude and immature do you really want to hear them talk? Be honest! I don't think so!

It's not ok to force people into party chat?

No, I don't think it's ever ok to force someone into doing something. If someone doesn't want to join in party chat then you will have to accept that. Do you really think that this person will join in party chat after you insult them or send them ten more invites? Maybe if you have the brain capacity of a peanut that makes sense but I think most people will realize that this person can't or won't join you in party chat. It's probably better to communicate in games when you have to work together but you honestly have to keep in mind that not everyone is interested in that. Some people just want to play the game and not be bothered with talking to other people. That probably makes you wonder why this person would play multiplayer but I guess we all have our own reasons to play the games that we like to play. It's not always for the obvious reasons! This forceful behaviour of constantly pestering people with party invites isn't making anyone happy nor will it make anyone want to join you any faster in party chat. Be nice and if someone doesn't want to join then that sucks but you'll just have to accept that. Starting to insult people isn't going to make this person want to join you nor does it help the team if you're rude to eachother. It's not like you need to communicate to win, but it can certainly help you win a match.

Why do some people refuse to join in party chat?

There could be a lot of reasons but my guess is that most people just don't want to talk with other people. It's not that they're shy but sometimes you just don't feel like talking to strangers in an online game. Have you never had that feeling? I know that I've felt that way and I usually try to avoid multiplayer games when I'm in a not talking mood but sometimes it happens that I'm in an online multiplayer game and I just don't want to talk. Sometimes you just want to play the game and not be bothered by anything else. Is that so wrong? Maybe it is to some people and in some games it can be a big disadvantage when you don't communicate with your team but that doesn't mean you have to give someone hate for that. As long as someone does his or her best then that's all you can ask for. There is also a chance that someone broke or lost their mic so it's not that people always have this anti social mood, sometimes people just can't talk because they broke or lost their mic. It seems like a lame excuse but it could happen. Try not to take it personally when someone doesn't want to join you in party chat, it's not like this person doesn't like you or anything but it's most likely someone who just doesn't want to talk with other people at that moment or is unable to do so.
