Sinful Sunday: Would you play a game with someone like you?
Whenever you play a game online with other people it's easy to get annoyed by others, mostly because someone does something you don't like or just sucks at the game. But how much fun is it to play a game with you? I mean we can all judge others but have you ever taken a good hard look at your own behaviour in a game? Are you such a joy to play games with? Let's find out!
What kind of gamer are you?
First you would have to look at what kind of gamer you are. Are you social? Do you enjoy playing with other people? What kind of games do you like to play? Do you like to troll? Do you always grab the loot wether you need it or not? These are things that can get you to an answer of what kind of person you are when you play a game. I think most of us have a pretty positive or at least neutral look of themselves when they play a game. But if you take a closer look you might discover you're not always the nice guy you think you are. I mean I know for a fact that I'm not always mister nice guy. But I try to be, unless someone is being a douchebag because at that point there is no reason to be nice anymore in my opinion. I personally see it like this, I don't do things to others that I don't want them to do to me. But if someone screws you over then the urge for revenge can be pretty strong! In the end I just want to have fun playing a game, wether that's on my own in a single player game or with others in a multiplayer game. Unfortunately things don't always go the way you want them to and it's easy to get frustrated in some games. I'm easily frustrated in a game, for example if I keep dying in rapid succesion in whatever game I'm playing (wether that's in single player or multiplayer) I get tired of that really fast. But I doubt I'm the only one, still this isn't really something that would make others want to play games with me. I mean it can be funny to see someone annoyed but if someone is raging every day you probably get enough of that sooner or later.
Would you want to play a game with someone like yourself?
If I have to be totally honest, no I wouldn't want that at all. I mean playing a game with someone else that is easily frustrated, can be a bit of a try hard at times and not that social can be quite boring and annoying at times. So no I wouldn't want to play with someone like me nor do I think many people would be interested in playing a game with someone like me. I guess I should be happy that there is a matchmaking system in most multiplayer games otherwise I would have a hard time playing those games. But does this bother me? No, not really. I'm more of a lone wolf when I play games so I'm not really looking for company. In multiplayer I prefer to go my own way, I can play as a team and I can be social but I prefer to just stay silent and concentrate on the game. With friends it's a bit different though, then I'm more social and things get a bit less frustrating. I think this counts for most people, you're usually at your worst when you play with strangers but with your friends you're usually more enjoyable to play with. I don't think I would be terrible to team up with, but I wouldn't recommend myself to other people. There are way more fun, social and helpful players out there than me. What about you? Would you want to play a game with someone like yourself?
