Bungie needs to stop with the random loot in Destiny 2!
At first I didn't mind the random loot that much, they gave you legendary armor and weapons pretty fast but it's when you try to complete a full armor set when you realize how frustrating this random loot system is. Because you can honestly be screwed over again and again without getting the one piece you need to complete the set. Yeah, that's a lot of fun...
It doesn't really matter?
Of course I don't need the last part of the armor set but isn't it better to get the full set instead of putting another part in the set that doesn't really look good with it? Maybe I'm just a whiny asshole here but honestly it frustrates me so much that I just can't seem to be able to buy the last part of the set and no matter how many times I earn tokens to buy a legendary engram from Asher I just don't seem to be able to get the Gensym knight leg armor for my warlock. After two weeks of trying every day, which involves doing all the daily challenges and farming chests and doing public events, it really becomes annoying that I still can't seem to get the last part of the armor set. Somehow Bungie thinks that the system is fine this way, that people are happy constantly trying their luck with this system and sometimes just keep getting bad luck. But hey there is always another chance the next time! Sigh...
It's enough to drive someone crazy?
After two weeks of bad luck, opening more than fifty engrams and still not getting the leg armor does make you slightly crazy with anger. I mean at what point do I actually get what I want? Oh right with shitty luck like mine it could take forever and with a random loot drop there is absolutely not guarantee that I get it eventually. The game keeps giving me the same piece of armor, I think I have like twenty Gensym knight chest armor pieces, but I just never seem to get the leg armor. When I do get legendary leg armor it's a different kind of legendary leg armor and not the Gensym knight one that I need to complete the set. So yeah it's frustrating and the longer you try to get it the more annoying it becomes! I know why Bungie has this system, because it gives people legendary items without too much effort, which makes some people happy and it keeps people like me playing the game forever because they want to get that one specific piece of armor and just can't seem to get it. So that keeps people like me playing the game a lot and still the day ends in disappointment, yeah that's really motivating me for the next day.
What needs to change?
Let people buy armor! I think most people have by now a nice amount of legendary armor shards so let us use them for something else than infusing armor and buying legendary items from Xûr. This way people get the items they want and not be thrown to death with duplicate armor pieces or weapons you never use. It's a great way to farm legendary shards but if I can't buy anything with those other than what I just named earlier then what's the point? Let people buy armor, this way people can get what they want and everyone is happy. Well maybe not everyone, some people are impossible to please, but at least the majority could get what they want and that is a good thing. I doubt I'm the only one just trying to complete an armor set and having bad luck with that. I might eventually get it but why does this have to take weeks or maybe even months, I doubt I'll keep trying for that long but I can be quite stubborn, but why do you put players through this crap Bungie? If the game is fun to play they'll play it anyway, you don't have to string them along with this random loot bullshit! So have a heart and let people buy armor, that would solve a lot of frustration!
