I hate Monday: When people don't play the objective
Playing a game is fun, but do you know what's not fun? Losing all the time! Especially when you lose and it could've been a win. The main reason you often lose isn't because you or your team mates suck, it's because there are people on your team that aren't playing the objective. They treat every game mode as team deathmatch and try to get as many kills as possible while they totally ignore the objective. Great fun, except you lose these matches and that isn't fun at all!
Are they deliberately ignoring the objective?
I've often wondered that myself, do these people actually ignore the objective on purpose or are they just really dumb? There's a chance that they're that dumb but most of the time people just ignore the objective, they want to get a lot of kills so their k/d rating stays positive. Yeah because that's important in a first or third person shooter. It doesn't matter what kind of game you play these type of people always seem to show up and are absolutely frustrating to deal with. For example in Overwatch trying to push the payload forward except you're the only one on the payload and the entire enemy team attacks you every time you get near the payload. At that time you really wonder what your team is doing. Destiny 2 when you play a crucible match and it's control, you keep running from capture point to capture point but the enemy team constantly has two and your team only has one. Why? Because you're the only person on your team that is actually capturing or defending the capture points. Then there are games like Battlefield, CoD and Gears of War where this happens as well and it always sucks balls when you lose a match because people on your team couldn't be bothered to play the objective. It's frustrating and pretty much a waste of time. It's thanks to people like that I have this urge to never play multiplayer again, because what's the point? You can put ten minutes into a match and do your best but still lose because some people on your team can't be bothered to play the objective.
Not playing the objective should get you less experience?
It would be an idea for people that ignore the objective in a match, but at that point I get the idea that people will try to just quickly rush through the objective to get a few points as credit for catpuring in domination or try to take credit for the work of someone else. The problem is that some people just don't want to play as a team or play for the objective, they have other priorities and they often have very little to do with the objective and winning the match. This is absolutely painful in Overwatch with the Junkenstein's revenge game mode. I've been in matches where three of the four players would run up the wall and don't defend the door at all. They just try to get the most kills in a row on the wall so they get play of the game. It's absolutely dumb because you lose every time, which isn't just a total waste of time but also a frustrating experience. Every week you try to get those nine wins for some loot boxes but somehow I just keep finding the dumbest and most frustrating people in the game. There is nothing wrong with certain strategies, for example having McCree on the wall is actually a pretty good idea, but when people just throw all logic out the door and start playing like idiots then I can't help and feel like the biggest idiot that I'm still in the game enduring that bullshit. But I hate rage quitters as well and I don't plan on joining that just because I'm frustrated with certain people. I guess it's the risk of playing with random people, you never know what you get and somehow a lot of these random people are really frustrating to play games with. It's nice if there would be a kind of detection system of who played for the objective and who did nothing and get rewarded for that accordingly but I doubt that would ever happen. I guess sometimes you just have to endure this type of behaviour and hope that you get what you want out of the game as fast as possible so you can move on to something more fun and less frustrating!
