Sinful Sunday: All the hate
When I read the comments under a YouTube video it never takes long to spot a hater. There is always and I really do mean always this one person, often more than just one person, that has to be negative. For a trailer or a new game or movie they will say that it sucks. Why? Oh I don't know, it's not like they let you know why they think it sucks. It's just some random douchebag being a douchebag, I guess you can't betray your own nature.
Everything is negative online?
Sometimes it feels that way, as if everyone is negative and everyone is just online to hate on eachother. But the fact is that it's not everyone, just a small group that seems big because they're so loud and active online. That actually says a lot about someone, I mean going online every day to check on your negative comments and to respond with more negativity. To be that person that always looks for something to be negative about and always have to be the person that has to ruin the fun. Is that the kind of person you want to be? When you were a kid is that what you always dreamt of becoming? It's sad that some people have no life outside their online trolling and negavite input. What's worse is that they make other people also negative, because if one person starts being negative then where does it end? This is shit and that is crap, do these people actually like something? It would be difficult to imagine that! But don't let these douchebags keep you from having fun or liking something. It's not all negativity online, it just seems that way sometimes.
Hating others online tells more about you than about them?
Have you ever played a game and someone immediately attacks you? Messages like you suck or you're a cunt are nothing new, for some people these are their basic means of communication which will eventually get them banned from certain games. I'm not saying that we all have to be friends but treating someone else with a bit of respect isn't that difficult, but I guess for some people it's just easier to be a douchebag. Keep in mind though that if you keep insulting and attacking others that this shows others more about you then you might want them to know. Sooner or later people will know you as that dumb kid that has anger issues and shouldn't be allowed to play game without your parents in the room. I understand frustration and I definitely understand to feel a need to release that frustration, but insulting others doesn't help. If your team mates suck then you don't have to tell them, there's a good chance that they know and they don't care or they are trying to get better. It doesn't help you nor them to tell them that they suck. Unfortunately this doesn't keep people from telling people that they suck anyway. It's easy to say that it's just kids but adults can be just as a bad, sometimes there are kids that are more mature than some of the adults playing a game.
It's so easy to hate?
It is, it most definitely is. When you're pissed it feels better to unleash some hate on someone or something. At the moment it might make you feel better but in truth it doesn't really help because the next moment for you to get upset is just around the corner. If you keep being this unpleasant person online then who on earth would want to play games with you? I guess with the solo queue you get matched up with other people automaticly but if you keep being a big douchebag online then people will report you and that will eventually result in you getting banned. I don't know about you but that seems lame to me. I know how easy it is to get mad, how easy it is to blame others and how easy it is to just attack others for your own mistakes. But it doesn't bring you happiness, it actually just makes things worse on the long run. As a kid you don't always notice that but as an adult things become a bit more clear. It's not like I have all the answers, I'd probably be getting some serious money in a game show or something like that, but I do try to give you some advice from my own experience. It's easy to be a douchebag online, but it takes actually some patience and strength of will to be a decent person online. I'm not saying that you should let other insult you or treat you like garbage, but try to be smarter and above all try to be a better person than this loser that is wasting his or her time online just to make other people feel like crap.
