YouTube adventures -66- Don't make your problems the problems of others?
Not every video has to be about games or some exciting adventure, some people like to talk about random things and that's fine. Often these personal videos are called vlogs when people point the camera at themselves and talk about things that are going on in their life. But should you tell everything and do people really care? Let's find out!
Don't make your problems the problems of others?
We all have bad moments and it feels good when you can talk about that, but I do think that it's probably better not to be this person online that constantly talks about these things. A lot of people will consider you as an attention whore, wether you are or not some people can be pretty harsh with their judgement, and that's probably not the type of response you were looking for when you made the video. If you're really in a depressed state of mind these type of negative comments only make you feel worse so you might want to be careful with what you want to share and what you want to keep to yourself.
I think that it's perfectly fine to let people know if something is going on in your life, you don't have to go into details but just let them know that there are personal issues and people will hopefully understand why you upload less videos or why you're sounding a bit depressed. It can't be rainbows and sunshine every day and I doubt anyone expects that from someone else. It's probably better to take a break from making videos instead of ignoring your problems and go on as if nothing is wrong. Sooner or later that will break you and your content might suffer under these negative emotions.
There are also people that go for every little bit to YouTube and make post their videos with their thoughts and feelings, these can be very exhausting for viewers when you get another thoughts and feelings video from the same person about something that really is no interest to them. Maybe that's harsh to say but keep in mind that you don't have to make your problems the problems of others and a professional YouTuber wouldn't do that. Of course you can let your subscribers know if something is going on but to go on and on about that seems weird to me.
I don't want to talk about my problems and I don't think a lot of people would care nor is it their business what my problems are. I would tell my subscribers if something is going on or why I won't be uploading videos at the moment but I don't like to go into details. I like my private life to remain private, maybe some people have no issues with that and want to share everything with everyone but I'm not like that! I think it's important to respect the privacy of someone else and if someone is comfortable enough to talk about it then he or she will.
