Movie Monday: Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2

Did you like Guardians of the Galaxy? Then you're going to love the sequel because it's pretty good! I must admit that I was a bit cautious about this movie because sequels aren't always as good as the first movie and disappointment is nothing new here. But Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is actually really good and a lot of fun to watch. Definitely a movie I can recommend!

Peter finds his daddy?

With all the daddy talk online this almost sounds dirty, but seriously Peter never met his father and then suddenly out of nowhere there is the guy and he is quite impressive. Ego, Peter's dad, is played by Kurt Russel and seems to be just as amazing as you would think of someone who has the powers of a god. Ego is actually a living planet and has been looking for Peter for all that time. Of course Peter is a bit cautious at first but then is happy that his dad is actually a cool guy. But is there more to Ego? Usually when things seem too good to be true they usually are...

What else happens?

Without spoiling too much I can tell you that the Guardians make some new enemies, this gold skinned douchebags consider themselves superior and are terrible losers. Except from the superior part and gold skin I guess I could've been one. Then there are Ravagers still roaming around and the Guardians will meet some familiar faces. Yes Nebula is also coming back, but who's side is she on? The movie has some interesting moments, not just hilarious but also quite touching moments and it really makes you think about certain things. If you want to know more then I suggest you watch the movie!

Is this movie better than the first movie?

I think it is, not just because we don't have to go through introductions and character building because we know the Guardians and we can go straight into the action. This is actually how the movie starts, going straight into the action. It might seem that at certain moments there isn't a lot happening but just because there are no explosions or hilarious things going on it doesn't mean that there is nothing going on. The music in the movie is once again amazing and especially the final song in the movie is really good and fits perfectly with what's going on. That song almost made me cry, it was really that good! I really enjoyed watching this movie and I can't wait for the next movie. I must admit that I actually like the Guardians of the Galaxy more than the Avengers!
