Anthem, oh my gawd!!!

During E3 there are a lot of new games announced, a lot of trailers and gameplay videos that make their way to the public but there is usually one game that sticks out and last year that was Fallout 4 for me but this year it's Anthem! I mean seriously this game looks amazing! If I would be a grahpics geek then I would geek the fuck out! But in all honesty the game just looks very solid and a lot of fun to play!

This isn't Destiny?

I know that the first thing you might want to say when you see Anthem is that this game is trying to copy Destiny. I see the similarities but I think that Anthem has a lot more to offer, not just in the open world but also in gameplay. Also keep in mind that Bioware is the developer for this game so you know that you can expect a good story and interesting gameplay. Yes I hear you complaining about Mass Effect Andromeda but keep in mind that nobody is perfect! In Anthem you play as a freelancer and it's your job to protect the city you live in and apparently help random people you meet in the city. Anthem really does look amazing, just looking at the moment you dive off the cliff in your javelin (the name of the exo suit you wear outside the city) and when you dive under water and see things light up. That's so fucking awesome! I think that Anthem has some similarities with Destiny but that's not a bad thing, I just hope that Anthem won't be a disappointment.

Jump in your javelin?

The javelin is an exo suit that gives you super human powers and some awesome weapons. The two you could see in the gameplay reveal trailer are the colossus and ranger. The colossus is the tank javelin that makes you tougher and in the video you could see a mortar attached to the javelin for some heavy fire power! The ranger is more balanced and offers some more movement with tactical strikes. For example a special ability where the javelin fires a lot of small rockets at once at a group of enemies killing them all at once! You can customize your own javelin and decide what you want to equip on it, the higher level you reach the more stuff you unlock and get acces to.

First person or third person shooter?

In the city you have a first person perspective, which is unusual because Bioware prefers the third person perspective and outside the city in your javelin you actually play in the third person perspective. I don't know if this is fixed this way but I hope that you also get a third person perspective in the city. But perhaps some players prefer to experience the outside world in the first person perspective, I can definitely see the benefit of that.

A big open world for you and your friends?

The world looks so big and so beautiful, it looks like behind every tree and every hill a new beautiful thing appears. The environment is amazing and the creatures that room in it are almost majestic. At least the ones that aren't trying to kill you! You can explore this open world with your friends, in the trailer up to three friends could join a player and they jump in straight away right next to the player so you don't have to look for eachother. If you prefer to play on your own and want to do your own thing then you can do that. You can also encounter other players in the open world but just like Destiny you can have your own adventures and not be bothered by eachother. So wether you rather play on your own or with friends this game got you covered!

Anthem is just for the Xbox One X?

Nope! You can also play the game on your Playstation 4, PC and Xbox One. But the gameplay on the Xbox One X looked amazing so I can see how they didn't show a beautiful game but also the capabilities of the Xbox One X. This does mean that playing Anthem on your Xbox One will make things look a bit less impressive but it still looks pretty amazing to me! I'm really looking forward to see more of this game and of course to play it, I can't wait!
