YouTube adventures -61- Upload the video or not?
There are a lot of videos on YouTube, more than I can count and sometimes it makes you wonder about your own videos. It raises the question if your video is going to be good enough to be on YouTube. So I can't help but wonder sometimes...
Upload the video or not?
When I first started with YouTube I was always judging my own videos, I always looked at my videos and kept wondering if they would be good enough. I kept wondering if people would want to watch my videos and what they would think of it. So that kept me from uploading a lot of videos, mostly videos that weren't of great quality or where I think it was just not worth watching it. Sometimes there are also videos where I got really upset during the video and I prefer not to have my anger issues too much on video, not that I'm ashamed but there is no need to see some dumbass ranting about random stuff. I think there is already enough of that on YouTube.
But I was wrong, it's not up to me to judge if a video is funny or worth watching but it's up to the subscribers and/or viewers. They decide if they want to see the video and not me. I just deliver content and it's up to other people if they want to watch it or not. If they don't like it then they don't watch it and if they do like it then they do watch it. There is nothing I can do about that and I shouldn't be able to do anything about that, it's free will and as free as they are to choose to watch a video or not that's as free I am to upload a video or not. But you shouldn't use the wrong reasons to keep yourself from uploading a video!
There are a lot of videos on YouTube, there is no denying that. But not every video is that popular, I bet there are thousands if not millions of videos that have only a handful of views. That's too bad but it's also quite realistic considering the amount of videos that get uploaded every day and you can't expect that everyone watches everything. It doesn't automaticly mean that you make bad videos, eventhough I have no illusions that I make good videos, but sometimes you just get unlucky and your video ends up lost in the ocean of YouTube videos. Don't give up and don't think you need to change, do what makes you happy and upload videos that make you happy.
I would like to keep in mind that you shouldn't upload videos that don't make you happy. If you don't like a certain video then how can you expect others to like it? So you might want to keep that in mind before you upload a video. Of course it's your choice to upload the video or not, but I'm just saying that it doesn't make sense to upload videos you don't like yourself. Not every video has to be great, as long as you had fun making it then it can't be that bad!
