Red Dead Redemption 2 online, what I don't want to see!
If you played GTA V online then you know how annoying it can be, random douchebags that keep killing you for no reason at all. What's worse is that for most things that actually earn you a lot of money you need to play in a public lobby so there is no real escape from this unless you prefer to earn a lot less money in a private lobby. So hopefully Red Dead Redemption 2 online is going to be better, otherwise I don't see myself playing this game.
What's wrong with GTA V online?
The fact that there is no way to play in peace in a public lobby, because the game pretty much motivates you to kill other players. If you do a biker mission or CEO mission then the game will award other players for disrupting these, as if people wouldn't do that already now they also get rewards for that. The dumbest part is that you can't do these missions in a private lobby. You can do some biker missions, the ones from the wall in the meeting room, but those don't earn you a lot of money. For the big money missions you need other players or at least play in a public lobby, this isn't fun for people who prefer on their own or don't have any friends online at the moment. I think that Rockstar is giving these people the middlefinger by making the game in such a way that you either team up or get fucked. Another thing I really hate about GTA V online is that there is so very little to do, ok you can mess around but there are no real activities in the world itself. Like robbing a jewelry store, mugging people in the street, become a hitman and eliminate targets or rob banks without the whole heist bullshit. Another thing that's really dumb in GTA V are the cops, the almighty cops that always know if you did something bad and will spawn immediately near you and track you like a bloodhound! If some jackass npc runs me over I beat him up, but the moment I use my fist to punch someone the cops will be alerted and they're on me before I can get back on my bike. I guess Rockstar is trying to teach us that crime is bad and that you can't get away with it but honestly why make a game that lets you be a criminal in the first place if you have such a hard on for law enforcement? Maybe I'm just seeing it wrong but there are times where I'm in GTA V online and I'm bored, I don't have any missions I can do and I don't feel like playing with other people and then there are moments where there is literally nothing you can do. I hope they improve the open world a lot, especially for people that play on their own, so there are no boring moments in the open world in Red Dead Redemption 2 online.
So what does Red Dead Redemption 2 need?
A lot of activities and not the type of activities that force you to team up with others. Give people random things to do. Rob a bank, pull a heist on a train or form your own gang and become the scourge of the Wild West. Also make it so that you can actually recruit npcs into your gang, that way you don't need to recruit other players into your gang. Create two types of multiplayer, one where people can kill eachother and the other where people can play in peace. That way people that want to be assholes to eachother can go to the kill eachother multiplayer mode and the people that want to play missions or other activities can do that without someone asshole constantly killing him or her. I would also like to see some customizing options, this beats selecting a random character that other people might also have. I like how you can buy new clothes in GTA V online so I would like to see that return in Red Dead Redemption 2 online. The trick is to keep the fun in the game and try to keep the frustration out, unfortunately that's not really possible but every little bit Rockstar can do to improve things is a good thing! I would also like to see npcs that don't randomly try to run you over or law enforcement that always knows when you do something bad and can always find you. Not only is this incredibly unrealistic but also very annoying. I mean if I make a stealth kill and nobody saw it then why do the police still know it was me? This doesn't make sense and completely ruins the game for me. I mean what's the point of such abilities if the cops always know it's you? So more fun and less frustration would be nice, but I guess we'll just have to wait till Fall and find out how much fun Red Dead Redemption 2 will be!
