Games that ruin friendships
It's fun to play games with friends, it's usually double the fun but sometimes it's also double the frustration. If some random person online fucks you over you pretty much chalk it up as a bad moment but when your friends keep screwing you over then that is enough to start a vendetta. At that point it's not about who wins or who loses, it's about getting back at the person who screwed you over!
Why would you play a game that makes you hate your friends?
Well the good part is that it's usually just temporarily, so eventhough you might hate your friends while playing the game it usually doesn't last long. Besides if your friendship is so easily broken then it probably never was a good friendship. But let's be honest, isn't it fun to screw your friends over? I used to do that a lot in Goldeneye 64, I was such a cocky scumbag that I would let them 3 vs 1 me and I would still win. It did help that I was the only one with a Nintendo 64 and so I had a lot more time in the game than the others but with a 3 vs 1 situation they should have enough chances to win. The same happened in Mario Kart 64, having more experience in the game usually means you know which characters fits your playstyle and also you know the short cuts so that definitely helps as well. It would often end with them not wanting to play those games for months. Only after long convincing they would try their luck again and after getting another beating from me they would disappear for a week or so again because they would be really annoyed with me. I guess it didn't help that I was a horrible winner by letting them know that they lost, constantly. But this is what friendship is also about, you give eachother shit and later laugh about it...well some people can laugh about.
It's great content for YouTube?
I see a lot of videos on YouTube where people play certain games with friends and it involves a lot of shouting, cursing, physical abuse of furniture and rage quitting. I don't know about you but those videos are hilarious. As much as it sucks when you're the person getting screwed in the game it's absolutely hilarious if you can screw your friends over. So why keep that fun to yourself? You can record some gameplay and share that online, which can be funny for other people as well. Games like Super Mario Kart 8, Uno and Monopoly are good examples of games where you can screw your friends and piss them off. Of course it's smart to keep things fun, I mean you don't really want them to get furious with you.
