One or two bad missions/quests can ruin a game?

Have you ever played a game that you really enjoyed until you reached a point where there was such an annoying mission or quest that almost made you quit the game? I've played these kind of games and it really takes some patience and determination to get through those moments because it really sucks when you fail like twenty times in a row and not see improvement. Should you still play that game or just give up and move on to another game? Well let's find out!

Bad missions/quests can ruin a game?

I think you could say that it can ruin the fun and thus ruin the game for you. But I doubt that one mission/quest is enough to say that the entire game sucks, it just sucks if you can beat this mission or quest. I've seen this happening for years, a good example is Goldeneye 2, yes a bad game but as a Bond fan I couldn't resist to play it. All is fine until you reach the final level where so many enemies have weapons that kill you with one shot. That is absolutely one of the worst things in a first person shooter! So you might wonder, are things better now? Oh no, absolutely not! Just look at Ghost Recon Wildlands, a fun game that I really enjoy playing but there are missions that just make my blood boil. For example there is a mission where you have to protect a farmer that's giving a speech, but this guy is like one of the dumbest npcs I've seen so far in the game because this guy likes to run to danger and never really seeks cover. This means you have to act like a distraction and get shot a lot, unfortunately in Ghost Recon Wildlands you can't get shot a lot because then you're dead! By some miracle I managed to beat the mission, on my own, but that was a great example of a frustrating mission that is clearly designed for four players and not one player with three bots. Then there are time missions that put unnecessary pressure on you and just frustrate you more. There are also missions where you have to follow someone without being noticed, this isn't always difficult but it does add a level of tension to the game nobody really likes. At least I've never heard someone say that they love doing that.

How do deal with these frustrating missions/quests?

My advice is to be patient, don't try to rush it and definitely don't get angry because at that point you better take a break because when you're angry you often play worse. If possible ask a friend for help, for example in Ghost Recon Wildlands you can play with up to three other people so that should make most missions a lot easier in the game. That doesn't mean that some missions/quests are very frustrating and it seems that developers just keep putting these missions/quests in games to slow you down. Apparently you can't beat games too quickly so they try to slow you down with annoying and frustrating missions, which clearly only adds frustration to a game when all you really want is to have some fun. Sure you can record a video of your frustration and post it on YouTube, that might be fun for other people but is that what you really want? I think most people who play games want to have fun. If you want a challenge then you play on a higher difficulty or if that's not enough then play with one hand on the controller if you're so good. I can't wait until all the time missions, follow a npc without being seen and protect a (dumb) npc are never put in a game again. Unfortunately for now these annoying and frustrating missions stay in games and you as a player will have to deal with that. It might also be a good idea to take a break from a game, sometimes that can do wonders because playing the game for several hours without making progress is just not healthy, not for you and not for the game because at that point you probably feel like tossing it out of your window!
