Ghost Recon Wildlands, a week later
A lot of time when I play a game it's all good, most of the time, in the first couple of days but then after some time I discover frustrating moments and bugs/glitches that make the game a lot less fun. So I decided to talk about games that have already launched and then a week later I take a look at them. First game I want to look at is Ghost Recon Wildlands, this game came out on the 7th of March, I got it even three days earlier than that for some reason, and it's a lot of fun to play. Even a week later the game is still pretty solid, but there are definitely moments that made me less happy.
Not every mission is fun to play?
There are some fun missions, for example kill a certain enemy or destroy a lot of stuff, but also less fun missions where you have to complete an objective in a certain amount of time or you have to protect a dumb npc. I already talked about this yesterday but it was really frustrating for me in some of these missions to deal with this. You'll most likely fail these missions at least once and then having to start all over, go through some dumb conversation you can't skip and what's worse having your spawn point a kilometer out from where you need to be is all quite frustrating! In longer missions you often do have checkpoints, which is a good thing but it sucks if you constantly have to go through the same conversation, that you can't skip, when all you want to do is get back to the action as fast as possible. From my experience with the game I can tell that most missions are fun or at least not frustrating. You just have to get through some frustrating ones every now and then, which is something that can't really be avoided.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is a slightly better Division?
This is something I hear a lot online, people that keep comparing Ghost Recon Wildlands with the Division and eventhough they both have the Tom Clancy stamp above the title that doesn't mean they're exactly the same. First of all you have a lot more room, mobility and fun in Ghost Recon Wildlands. You can even fly in a helicopter or plane if you want to! I don't see that in the Division, you can't even drive in cars in the Division. Also there are no health bars in Ghost Recon Wildlands, so you can actually kill enemies quite fast as long as they don't have heavy armor on. But even then a headshot will take care of that problem real fast! In my opinion Ghost Recon Wildlands is also a lot more fun, you can do some fun and exciting things and this will probably keep people entertained for weeks if not months, while most people were done with the Division in a week if not faster. I know that haters will always hate on games but honestly Ghost Recon Wildlands is a lot more fun than the Division and if you didn't like the Division then Ghost Recon Wildlands might still be a fun game for you!
Are there no technical issues with the game?
There is a slight stotter every now and then when I'm playing, I don't know if this is just my issue, a problem for the Xbox One or just there in the game for everyone. This doesn't bother me that much because it doesn't make the game crash and considering it's a big open world game it doesn't surprise me that there are some slight issues. Nothing terrible and the game hasn't frozen on me so that's all good news. Does it run like a dream? Well maybe not like a dream but still pretty smooth, apart from that small stotter every now and then. The most important thing is that the game is working and that eventhough there are some small bugs, for example a floating HVT (high value target, someone you need to grab to complete the objective), it doesn't ruin the experience and doesn't cause huge problems. Most of the time the game works and should be fun to play and that's important to me. Feel free to check the game out yourself, I think it's worth it!
