Youtube adventures part 10

No matter how much fun you have recording videos it's lame to see people hate your videos, maybe the quality isn't that great but that doesn't mean people have to hate it right? Well some people do seem to believe that they need to hate it, not just with a dislike but also with comments that are usually just people being assholes online. There's nothing wrong with criticism, but if all someone does is tell you what's wrong with your video and not giving you anything to work with then it's just a waste of time to even read that. But the question remains.

How do you deal with haters?

If you make a video on youtube then sooner or later you'll get unfriendly comments, especially if you video isn't really that great then it's easier for people to hate it. But even fun videos and good quality videos get hate, wether that's they don't like the guy or girl that made the video or it's just some sad attempt to make people angry. On youtube you find all kinds of people, a lot of people that leave a comment aren't the most friendly or supportive type. But there are positive comments as well, it's just more difficult to find them when you drown in an ocean of negativity!

Some people even go so far to personally attack you, for example when people want you to stop making videos or even go so far as to tell you to kill yourself because your videos are that bad. People that leave these type of comments aren't even worth responding to, clearly something went wrong in their life and now they have to unleash their negativity on other people because their lives just sucks. It's impossible to avoid this, because when you put videos online then there will be people that watch them and not everyone that watches them likes them.

If people are being negative about my videos, that is if they actually bother to leave a comment and not just a dislike, then I usually answer that with sarcasm. Unless someone is actually serious and even has some advice, you see not everyone that has criticism is the enemy. Some people actually look at your video and see points where you could improve and try to help you with that. You could also be hostile towards people that leave negative and/or hurtful comments but it's easier to just remove or ignore them. Some people are just not worth your time.

Sometimes youtubers actually stop or prevent people from commenting on a video, which is a shame because the comments are a way for the youtuber to talk with his or her viewers. You might stop the haters but you also stop the people that support you to talk with you in the comments, even if it's only a handful of people that support you that is still something you should appreciate. If you do feel like stopping then do it for the right reasons, don't let some random douchebag discourage you because there are a lot of those on youtube. Just do what you like to do because you like to do it. I hope that makes sense!
