Games are oversexualized?

I understand that not everyone likes games, maybe some people even hate them, but sometimes people just go too far. They start this pointless crusade against a game just because there's something they don't like about it. What is it they don't like? Well it could be anything but today I want to talk about oversexualized games and what makes these games oversexualized.

What makes a game oversexualized?

Apparently the slightest hint towards the human body and the things you can do with your human body, yes I'm talking about sex and being able to see certain parts of the human body in a game. Somehow people find sex more offensive than violence in games, this anti sex vibe comes mostly from Americans (not all of them, mostly people that hardly or even never play games). But what is it exactly that upsets people? Well today I just heard the stupidest thing, in the game Overwatch one of the characters (Tracer) has a victory pose and some women find this this pose wrong and are offended by it.

Ok take a look and say what you think of this Tracer victory pose.

Does this offend you? If you see this victory pose do you think that it's wrong and that it oversexualized Overwatch?

Some people ruin the fun for everyone?

It annoys me so much that people whine about the slightest things, I mean seriously this victory pose isn't a big deal. Oh sure you can see her butt but it doesn't reveal any real skin nor is it huge in the middle of your screen. What are we even talking about? A fictional character in a fictional game turns her back on you when she wins and you can see her butt figure through the tight pants. Wow this is horrible, man how can I ever unsee this attrocity! Blizzard (the Developer of Overwatch) said that they got rid of this victory pose because there were complaints about it. But I really wonder who complained, people that actually played this game and have some serious issues with it or people with too much time on their hands and will most likely not buy nor play this game. I read a saying in the comment section that fits nicely here: If you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. I think that says it all.

Women are whiners?

What I also noticed how people quickly became angry at women and calling them feminazis. Of course you can leave it to a comment section to quickly derail and get mad at everyone who is different than you. But is it true? I don't know, I honestly don't know who complained so I can't say if women are the ones that were whining about Overwatch. But even if there were some women that whine, that doesn't mean they're all whiners. I asked my girlfriend and my sister, they both play games as well, what they think about the Tracer victory pose and if it goes too far. Guess what? They didn't see the problem. I guess there is just a small group of people who seem to take offense easily and make it a big deal, eventhough there is no real issue!

How do you feel about oversexualized games?

To be honest I'm not that easily bothered by that, eventhough there are moments that are a bit awkward. For example in Metal Gear Solid 2 (SPOILER) when you play as Raiden and he's completely naked, that was awkward but I wouldn't go to the developers and demand they take that part out. Then there's Miranda in Mass Effect 2 in her black latex catsuit, as a guy there are no complaints here but I can imagine there are women that hate to see women in games like that. But let's not forget the most important thing, games aren't real and whatever you do in a game is also not real. I know that for some people this is difficult to accept but games are there for fun, if you whine and complain about the slightest thing in a game then you're sucking out the fun! I don't complain about some tv shows (mostly reality bullshit with some wannabe celebrity) and how I find it absolutely attrocious that this exists on tv, so leave games alone if you don't even play games or don't want to play a certain game because there is something in it you don't like. It's much easier to just ignore that game and play something you do like, that makes you happy and that makes people that do like the game happy. We all win!
