Broken achievements
I don't know how reliable the trophies are on PSN but on Xboxlive it's always a surprise if you actually get the achievement or not. Even when you do everything right then it's still a matter of chance if you actually get the achievement. Oh sure it will mostly work, but then every now and then it won't work and you miss out on achievements you should've unlocked like all the other achievements you unlocked!
Why do some achievements don't unlock?
It's difficult to say because there could be several reasons but it still comes down to the fact that you don't get an achievement you did earn. I know that if you don't play online on your Xbox One that achievements don't pop up on the screen, it's the next time you go online that you might get them. Even that isn't a guarantee, something I discovered in Batman Arkham Knight where I played the game offline for a couple of days (I had no internet) but only got half of the achievements I actually unlocked. But that's one of many reasons, another reason is when the game is just crap and doesn't recognize you doing what you needed to do to unlock the achievement. Last night I tried to complete Life is Strange and get the remaining optional photos in episode 4, I got all achievements there and then when I should've gotten the achievement for getting all optional photos in episode 4 the game did nothing. So I get all optional photos in episode 4 but I don't get the achievement for that, seriously why not?!!! It doesn't make sense and when I think back at that it just makes me mad, once again achievements fail and I can't complete a game because of bullshit!
Is there nothing you can do?
You could try to get some help with contacting support but really they can't do much for you. You could try to delete your profile and then install it again, somehow that could fix your problem, but there's no guarantee and sometimes you just have to accept that certain achievements are just lost and there's nothing you can do to get them back. Unless you make a new account and start over, but even then there will be a game that will fuck you over with an achievement that won't unlock. It's unfair but that's how it is, you can cry about it or just take your loss and move on. It might be worth returning to the game after several months, maybe there's a patch that fixes this problem but once again there's no guarantee. What might work for one person doesn't have to work for another, achievements are tricky and as easy as you might get some that's how easy it is for others not to get them. It sucks but that's unfortunately how it is...
