Final Fantasy XV, it's everything you ever wanted in a FF game?
That's a bold thing to say but let me explain, Final Fantasy looks amazing! Ok I know that previous Final Fantasy games also had the same effect, they look amazing but the moment you start playing them you know they're not that amazing. I had that with Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XIII, the trailers look amazing but then when you actually play the game it's not that impressive and at certain points even boring. I don't think Final Fantasy XV will have that problem, mostly because the game offers you so much to do and I'd say at this point the only thing I would complain about is that I don't like spending a whole month in one game and yet that's probably exactly what I do once the game launches on the 30th of September!
What is so amazing about Final Fantasy XV?
I understand that there are still people that don't see why FF XV is so amazing. For me it's the freedom, to go where you want to go in beautiful environments and lose yourself in exploration and discoveries. But there's also the fast combat that leads to some amazing gameplay. I saw Noctis (the main character from FF XV) fight against a huge monster with a big cleaver and he attacked him and at the last moment Noctis blocked (the player has to block manually) his attack and that looks pretty cool. But there are also stealth moments where you can eliminate enemies without alerting everyone else or just go for a mounted gun and mow everyone down. There are multiple ways to play and that offers you also a lot of freedom, it's pretty much a lot of stuff you like from other games all put into one game. I don't know about you but that is pretty amazing to me!
So what happens next for FF XV?
A lot actually, because first there is a new playable demo where you play as young Noctis in some type of dream which allows you to become a bit more familiar with the controls and later also with the combat. Then there's also an anime series about the past of Noctis, you could say what happened before the game. There's also a FF XV movie planned, which also tells you more about what happened in the world of FF XV. I guess you could say that 2016 is the year for FF XV! It's now less than six months away from launch and I'm really excited about this game. I really want this game to amaze me like FF VII, FF VIII and FF X. I want humour to come back to Final Fantasy and have a great story that I like to play and not have to sit through just to finish the game. I don't think the opening cinematic will be better than the one from FF VIII but who knows maybe FF XV will be the game that will be everything you always wanted in a FF game. Maybe it's a lot of wishful thinking but so far the game looks amazing and I hope things will only get better from this moment on!
