Sinful Sunday: Attention needed!
These days it feels like people have a strong need for attention, wether that's on Twitter or Facebook or whatever form of social media someone would use these days. It's just such a large call for attention, look at me and like my stuff! I don't know about you but this makes me sad, especially when you see someone desperate and not getting the attention he or she wants.
Why do people want attention?
Well we all need some love and attention and I think at one point in your life you get that or have gotten that. I'm not saying that you need it to survive, eventhough some people make it look that way, but it's a comfort that makes your life more pleasant. For example when you have a dog you don't need to pet him or her, you can ignore the dog and go on with your life. The dog won't die of a broken heart but he or she will be unhappy, it's also cruel to do such a thing! But then there are people out there that do exactly the same thing.
The price of attention?
I've seen people do ridiculous or dangerous things just to get noticed or get those much wanted likes. Some jump off a building, then there are some that are obnoxious towards others hoping for a response and then you have those that summon a spirit. You might think this is crazy but it's what people do, all for the views and likes. But being an asshole towards others might cost you your friends and getting mixed into the occult isn't something you want to do especially when you're sensitive towards these type of things. Putting yourself at risk for views and likes is just stupid and I'm actually surprised that so many people do these type of things. It's like we have a new generation of stupid, but hey at least people like it!
Does it really matter?
No not really, I mean sure it's nice to get some attention but hopefully for the right reasons. For example your birthday, you graduated, you got your drivers license or you're getting married. Those are all good reasons to get attention and it's not a bad thing that you ask for a bit of attention if something good happens to you. But too much of something is a bad thing and you don't want to be the daily douchebag that wants attention online with nonsense. But it's not the people that ask for attention that are the worst, it's the people that give them this attention that are the worst!
