Resident Evil 2 remake?
After the big succes of the Resident Evil HD remake I'm not surprised that there might be a Resident Evil 2 remake, especially if this will be the type of remake that makes everything look better and hopefully also still be fun to play. The remake worked out very well for the first Resident Evil, but will the same trick work again now on Resident Evil 2?
Why should Resident Evil 2 get a remake?
Because it's a great game? Well yes but there's more to it, in Resident Evil 2 you go into Raccoon City and you can choose to play as Leon (the rookie cop) or Claire (the younger sister of Chris). Instead of the spooky mansion you now have a city full of zombies and other monsters and it's the trick to stay alive when danger lurks everywhere! What makes this game so much fun is the classic survival horror gameplay and yet at the same time you're in for some brutal action in certain places. But don't think it's just action, the moment the zombie arms reach through the wall when you try to get past it is a well known jump scare point in the game. Sure there's action, but it's still a survival horror game with some scary moments.
Are people really excited about a Resident Evil 2 remake?
It might surprise you if you're just like me a big fan of the first Resident Evil but a lot of people see Resident Evil 2 as the best game in the series, I disagree with that but it's still a good game. It's also a game you don't want to miss out on because it introduces two characters that play a big role in the Resident Evil game series. What's also interesting is that you see what happens to someone that gets exposed to the G virus, this is a more volatile virus than the T virus that you know from the first Resident Evil game. You also get a look at where the S.T.A.R.S. are from because you visit the police department and get to know the boss there (Chief Irons aka s.o.b.). Resident Evil 2 is a memorable journey that's worth checking out and I'm excited what the remake will have in store for us. I mean there's what you know and then there might be new content that will make the game even more interesting.
So the remake is coming?
I hope so, at least there is some serious talk about it and that usually means it's just a matter of time. Hell they could already be working on it and now pretend like it's just an idea, you never really know with some people. It's cool though that Resident Evil 2 makes a good chance for a remake, hopefully this will also convince them to make a remake of Resident Evil 3 and the first trilogy (that most survival horror gamers love) will be back with a fresh look. Unfortunately for that to happen we'll probably be ten years into the future, but let's hope it won't take that long!
