People hate popular games?
It's nothing new when you see under popular game videos a lot of hate comments, usually fan boys or girls that like to talk shit about other games then their favourite, and that's starting to become a trend to look for certain game videos and then try to be the most obnoxious and hateful commenter. Maybe that's just the way it is these days but I can't help but notice that people are looking specifically for popular games just to reach a larger audience for the hateful comments.
What's wrong with an opinion?
Well most of those hateful comments aren't really opinions, they're usually just comments left by trolls and/or sad sacks of shit that need some attention in their life. Of course you can waste time to reply to people like that but that's like feeding the vermin in your own house and it won't make it go away! The problem I have with hateful comments is that they hardly ever add anything to a discussion or help in any way. You see if you really dislike a game and make some valid arguments then people can reply to that and give their opinion about it. We don't all have to like the same games, but to just hate on a game for some sad attempt to get noticed or just to be an asshole is pathetic.
Hate makes you blind?
In a way it makes you blind, but let's not forget that people with hateful comments don't truly hate the game. I'd say half of the haters actually played the game and most of them probably even like the game. But somehow it's more fun to be a douchebag online than being normal. What's worse is that a lot of these hateful comments already start before the game is launched, sometimes all a hater needs is a title of a game and it's enough to start a campaign to shit all over that game. This is stupid because how can you judge a game you've never played and you know nothing or hardly anything about?
But what makes people hate popular games?
There are multiple answers for that question but I think it's safe to say that most of the online hate (for example youtube comments) you see for a game are just people desperately trying to get noticed or trolls being trolls. You shouldn't take that seriously and even if the comment section is flooded with hate then that doesn't mean everyone hates a game. It's just a group of sad people having nothing better to do. I think if someone honestly dislikes a game they won't make a big deal out of that or go out of their way to make certain everyone knows that online, if you dislike a game then you just get rid of it and play another game. So why do people hate? I'd say the most simple answer is because they can. Unfortunately there isn't always an answer that makes sense, sometimes people are just annoying scumbags and it's probably better to leave it at that because trying to make sense of that is just a waste of time!
