New Year´s Resolution: Play more/less games!

Do you like to play games? I take it you do because I don´t see another reason for you to read this, but does that mean you also play a lot of games? Do you play games all the time or just every now and then? It´s not surprising if you don´t have a lot of time to play games, school and work can often keep you from playing games and then you also have family and friends that like to see you occasionally.


Less is good? I guess, I mean thinking about your health it´s probably true. Sitting in front of your tv or PC all day playing games isn´t exactly healthy. But it really depends on how much hours you spend on playing games, I´d say one to two hours on a day isn´t that much and I don´t think you have to play less. But if you spend six to eight hours on a day then you might want to play a bit less, as much as you like to play games it´s good to go out and do other things.


But what if you do a lot of exercises? I guess that makes it a bit less harmful but you don´t want to spend six to eight hours sitting, maybe you also play a lot of party games or fitness games where you´re required to move around a lot. Perhaps that makes it a bit less harmful but I doubt a lot of gamers do that every day. Good for you if you do, but most people don´t do that. So what better way to play less games at the start of the year and let´s see how long you can keep that up!


More is better? Spoken as a true addict to gaming! But seriously it´s not good to play games more than eight hours on a day! Then you´re really in a danger zone where this type of behaviour comes with risks. Of course it´s tempting to keep playing the new cool game you got, but is it a smart idea? No it´s not! If you spend less time on playing games then your games also last longer, you´ll finish it not so fast and you´ll enjoy it longer. I understand that sometimes you want to keep playing, but know your limits and don´t push yourself further than you should!


In the end it´s up to you, because you know yourself better than anyone else. Do you think you need to spend less time on playing games? Maybe you think you´re ok and you can even spend more time on playing games. Just be honest to yourself and others, if you truly believe that it´s ok to keep going as things are now then that´s your business. But be careful, it´s easy to say that you´re ok when it comes to an addiction. So also check with family and friends and ask for their opinion on your gaming behaviour, do they think you spend a lot of time on gaming? You might be in for a surprise! As much as I love to play It´s easy to spend a day on your favourite game but there is more in the world than just playing games!
