Life is strange?
In case you haven´t heard about this game let me try to explain it quickly. You play as Maxine, she´s studying something to do with photography and one day she finds out she has a special power. She can turn back time and so make different decisions and/or change certain events. The things that you do and change have an impact on the story, it´s a lot like the Walking Dead game from Telltale games, and that can be a good thing or a bad thing!
Isn´t going back in time cheating?
If it´s part of the game then I wouldn´t call it cheating, besides you can´t go back all the time. There will be points in the story when you can´t change something, so it´s not like you can contantly change things! Otherwise the game would be too easy, sometimes you have to live with your decisions. Those decisions can have a big impact, sometimes helping someone can have a big impact in the future. But would that really stop you from trying to change things? Probably not...
Is this a full game or just like the Walking Dead with episodes?
It´s just like the Walking Dead, so right now you can play episode one and then you´ll have to wait until the other episodes become available. That´s rough for people that can´t wait for that and then I´d advice you to wait until all episodes are available. There are a total of five episodes so that means you´ll have to wait for quite some time until all are available, at least if it´s going to be one episode each month. It doesn´t bother me that much but to be honest I prefer to be able to play the full game right away and not wait a month (or more) for the next episode. But that won´t stop me from playing episode one!
Why would you recommend this game?
If you like games where you have to make decisions and see those decisions have an effect in the world you play in then this game might be perfect for you. What´s interesting is that you can change certain things, so a bad mistake can be changed and that gives you a bit of breathing room. In the Walking Dead a bad decision meant replaying the entire chapter (if you´re unfortunate enough that there was a checkpoint right after that decision), in life is strange you have a chance to change things so that should keep things interesting and a bit more flexible. This game looks like a lot of fun because of the characters, the setting and of course your special power to rewind time. So if you enjoyed games like the wolf among us and the Walking Dead then this game might be something you´re interested in.
