Looking back at.....World of Warcraft!

Usually when I talk about a game here that game is usually not that popular anymore, well maybe to some but not to millions of people. World of Warcraft is different because it´s still very popular! But why is this game still so popular? Wether you like it or not but this game has a lot of fans and they like to play this game, especially since there is a lot to do in this game.

What makes WoW so much fun to play?

I think the possibilities in this game make it a lot of fun, there is so much you can do and there is never enough time to do it all on one day. But let´s not forget the two factions (Alliance and the Horde) with the races that are alligned to those factions, which leads to a lot of options in creating a unique character in a world with millions of people in it. When I just look at crafting and exploring then I´m already happy to play this game because there is so much to do and see! If you´re more into quests then there are a lot of quests, I really do mean a loooooooooooooot of quests! But if you´re more into PvP then there are a lot of activities for you as well. You can also make yourself a target while playing PvE by attacking other players (on the opposite faction of your faction) and that can lead to some fierce combat or a slaughter when you pick a fight with some experienced players.

Is it rough for new players to make it in WoW?

That depends, if you have friends that play with you and you´re active in the online community then you should have a great time. But if you don´t have any friends to play with and you don´t communicate with others then you´re in for a rough time. Especially if you´re not familiar with this game. So I would definitely encourage you to stay active in the community and make some friends, it makes the game more fun to play. If you do decide to play solo then I would warn you that there are situations where your character might be in trouble, attracting too many enemies at once or a powerful boss that is too much for you to beat on your own. But let´s not forget how you miss out on dungeons where you can find some good stuff to help you out!

What´s better? PvE, PvP or RP?

That´s a matter of opinion, but I would definitely recommend new players to start with PvE. Get to know the game and how everything works, then when you´re comfortable enough and maybe made some friends you´re ready for some PvP. If you enjoy some roleplaying then I can also recommend trying a RP server, just don´t enter these servers when you don´t like roleplaying and name your character DaBadAssMan or Johnny1234. I don´t think everyone would object against that but it makes roleplaying a bit weird when you talk to someone with one of these names or something similar.

Is WoW really that addictive?

To some people it is, but I don´t think that counts for everyone. If you play for a couple of hours on a day then you should be fine, you won´t hit the max level within a week but is that really important? The important part is that you´re having fun, so play the game as you want to play it. It´s a good way to make some new friends or lose yourself in a fantasy world. It´s a bit rough on your own but with friends you can definitely spend a lot of time there. With all the expansions you have even more to do and a lot to discover, especially as a new player. I really enjoyed playing this game and I have some good memories of playing this game, so I can definitely recommend it if you haven´t played it.
