To Halo or not to Halo?
That is the question! I wonder how many people are still fans of the Halo games and above all still looking forward to Halo 5. I think that number is a lot lower after the issues with multiplayer in the Master Chief Collection. But if I have to believe the ´fans´ hardly anyone was playing Halo anymore thanks to Halo 4. So can Halo 5 change that?
Nothing lasts forever, that´s important to know, but I think Halo is ok for now. Despite the amount of hate comments I know that this isn´t the majority when it comes to people that play or have played Halo games. Often these hate messages are from trolls or people that just have nothing better to do, oh right trolls. I think that a lot of people are just disappointed after the MCC incident, but I doubt that they lost any faith because the Halo 5 beta is looking good. But if it will be enough to secure the future for Halo, that remains to be seen...
A nice bonus for everyone that was or tried to get into a multiplayer match from MCC launch till the 19th of December will get a free copy of Halo 3: ODST and gold membership for a month. I´m not saying that this makes everything ok but I do think it´s a nice gesture to everyone that was actually affected by the issues. It´s easy to be mad at someone, but sometimes bad things happen and to keep using that as fuel for your hate towards someone is just sad. Instead of concentrating on the negative you could look at something good, for example Halo 5 beta and try to get familiar with the gameplay.
I won´t pretend that I´m super excited about Halo 5, I think I was one of the few people that actually enjoyed playing Halo 4 and this arena style in Halo 5 isn´t really my cup of tea. But I´m not going to talk shit about a game I haven´t played myself, besides even if multiplayer would be less interesting to me then there is always the story that I want to follow and thus play. We all have our own reasons to buy and play games, it´s nothing new that these reasons aren´t always the same and that´s quite alright. As long as you´re having fun playing a game then who gives a shit what someone else thinks? We´re all free to have our own opinion, it doesn´t mean that people are interested in hearing them all the time! If you´re truly that passionate about something then stop talking and go play some games, you know the ones you´re so passionate about.
