Looking back at.....the Sims 2!

I think a lot of people have played the Sims, probably to check it out and see why so many people love that game. But how many people bought the Sims 2? I mean you can´t use the same excuse for that, oh sure you could say that you were curious about it but in reality a lot of people just love playing the Sims. I don´t think that´s something to be embarrassed about, unless you do weird shit with your sims then you have a pretty good reason!

What made the Sims 2 better than the first game? I think 3D made things better, it made things look better and also gave more depth to your houses and the world you´re playing in. Of course it´s not that spectacular compared to the latest Sims games but back then it was pretty cool. I think there are still people out there that play the Sims 2, mostly because they don´t like the Sims 3 and/or 4. What also made the Sims 2 cool is that you could make your own sims and not just slap a head on a body as you did in the Sims. This allowed you to try and make your own personal sim that could look like you or anyone else. Because let´s be honest, I think a lot of people that played the Sims want to put themselves in the game!

Another great thing about the Sims 2 are the expansions, the first one is immediately my favourite. Because in the university expansion you got a new stage in the sim life, the young adult and you could go to the university and do some ridiculous things there. The cow plant is a funny but disturbing way of getting rid of sims, if you get bored with drowning or burning them (you sick bastards). Later vampires found their way into the game and even seasons with unique weather not seen before in the Sims, the Sims 2 offered a lot of cool stuff and that made it for the fans a lot of fun to play it. The mods definitely made it an unforgettable experience that gave you almost unlimited possibilities, it also showed how creative and amazing the community is.

Of course the downside of every new Sims game is that you start over with just the basic stuff, which means everything you got in the expansions of the first Sims game was gone. That´s rough but it´s nothing new and it´s exactly how it goes now with the Sims 3 and 4. If you can get past that then you´re in for a game full of fun and almost an endless resource for your creativity to get busy with! I know some people hate the Sims but there are also a lot of people out there that love the Sims, it´s not for everone but those that do appreciate it often lose themselves in a world where almost everything is possible.
