Sinful Sunday: Gamers are spoiled brats?
Have you noticed how people respond to new games? Games that are good have to be better and games that are already better have to be the best. It´s insane but this is how it works, somehow there is always something that is wrong and for some people these minor issues are just as bad as big issues. Strange? That´s one way of calling it...
People don´t play games for fun anymore? Not everyone if I have to believe the comments under so many game videos, apparently it´s more important to play through the entire game just to look for a glitch or something else that could be used as a base for their complaints. Instead of just enjoying the game there are actually people that see it as their mission to look for mistakes in games. These aren´t people that actually review the game, no these are people that probably have nothing better to do with their lives. Which is probably 80% of the youtube commenters in a nutshell.
So what makes gamers spoiled brats? Let me first say that this doesn´t make every gamer a spoiled brat, but sometimes it does feel like it´s the majority of all gamers. When you come from the time of the NES (or maybe even before that) then you´ll probably appreciate the latest consoles and games a bit more, because when we were kids you didn´t have everything you have now. So you´re more likely to appreciate the latest consoles and games, that doesn´t mean you´re blind to faults but you´re not going to whine about small things that supposedly ruin your gaming experience.
These days games are being observed and it´s just waiting for the first group of assholes that have something bad to say, this already starts before a game is released! Of course there are a lot of sad sacks of shit that just talk badly about a game hoping to make people upset, but unfortunately there are also people that just have to complain about things they don´t know anything about. But modesty isn´t of this time anymore, now we all have to scream loud and our opinions have to matter because it´s your opinion!
Let´s not forget the part where (often) kids get the latest games and all that but still don´t seem like they´re happy, no why be happy with something when you can whine online against strangers? I´m not going to pull the kids in poor countries card, but I´m pretty certain that there would be people out there happy with the games some people can´t stop complaining about. Be happy with what you have, because one moment you have something and the other moment you might have nothing!
