Barry Burton returns!

It´s been a long time since I last heard that name, Barry Burton. I will probably always remember him as the guy with the Magnum in Resident Evil. Others might remember him as the guy who likes a Jill sandwich, no that´s not as dirty as it sounds! He had a tiny role in Resident Evil 3, if you had a good ending, and after that there was so much nothing. Sure he would pop up as a playable character in the mercenaries game but that´s not exactly the same. But he´s back! He´s a playable character in Resident Evil Revelations 2.


Aren´t you playing as Claire and Moira in Resident Evil Revelations 2? Yes you do play as them, but you can also play as Barry and Natalia (a new character in the Resident Evil games, for as far as I know). If I got the right idea then Barry and Natalia are looking for Claire and Moira and they´re on their trail, which means things you might do as Claire and Moira might have an effect when you play as Barry and Natalia. The enemies are also a bit different when you play as Barry and Natalia, so that should keep things interesting if you play in the same area as before.


Why Barry and not Chris Redfield? Chris Redfield is probably my favourite protagonist in the Resident Evil games, but too much of something isn´t a good thing. Eventhough his sister is kidnapped I do believe that it´s good that they brought Barry back because he´s a pretty cool character. Besides his daughter is also kidnapped so it makes sense that he would be looking as well. If this takes place after Resident Evil Revelations and also lost in nightmares dlc (from RE 5) then it makes sense that Chris isn´t the first choice as he is grieving or at least not (yet) in the best shape (which is hilarious when you see him in RE 5) to deal with that. So I´m actually glad they brought Barry back and hopefully you find out what he´s been up to the last couple of years.


I´m a bit nervous though, Capcom have been killing former S.T.A.R.S. members left and right in their games now, so I can´t help but worry a bit about Barry. So I hope this doesn´t mean anything bad for Barry, but I guess we´ll just have to play the game to find out. If I´m not mistaken then it should be available in February 2015, hopefully then we´ll get some answers on questions and will be actually get a revelation about what is going on!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything.
