Who is the Arkham Knight?
After finally seeing the Arkham Knight in the latest Batman Arkham Knight trailer it´s time to really start speculating who that guy is. Of course I don´t have any inside information so you only get speculation from me, but who knows maybe I´m pretty close to the truth! There will be spoilers here, so if you haven´t read the Batman comics or played the Batman Arkham games then I strongly suggest you don´t read anything else!
First suspect: Jason Todd. Anyone that knows the Batman comics is probably familiar with Jason Todd, he was the second Robin and was murdered by the Joker. But he came back to life, no zombie business, and is angry because Batman didn´t avenge his death. In the comics he became Red Hood but in this Arkham game he might become the Arkham Knight. The problem I have with this theory is that there is no mention of Jason Todd in any of the other games, the same counts for the cartoons and I´d say there is probably a pretty big group of people that has never heard of his name. So it might seem unlikely to make him out of nowhere become such a big player in this game. On the other hand you did see the Tim Drake Robin in Batman Arkham City, so that would mean that Jason Todd had his moment as Robin and could come back and the Arkham Knight.
Second suspect: Hush. In Arkham City you saw this guy get away with murders and looking like Bruce Wayne, that is if you played that side mission. He has a score to settle with Bruce Wayne and he´s not a fan of Batman, but that wouldn´t explain why he would suddenly become a crime fighter (eventhough this is the type of crime fighter that kills his opponents). The biggest thing that Hush has going for himself is that he got away, so he´ll probably be included in Arkham Knight but probably as a side mission again and not as the Arkham Knight.
Third suspect: Damian Wayne. This is the son of Bruce Wayne (his mother is Talia) and he would have a very good reason to hate Batman because his mother died in Arkham City and he could blame him for what happened. Also he´s a trained and knows how to deal with people that get in his way. The biggest problem with this theory is that he´s probably too young to be the Arkham Knight, I don´t know how many years Arkham Knight takes place after Arkham City but I doubt it´s enough for him to be an adult. But it would fit perfectly with the story, at least in my opinion.
There are of course plenty of other characters that could be the Arkham Knight, but one is even more ridiculous then the other. To name a few: brainwashed Dick Grayson (Nightwing), a clone of Batman, the Joker (eventhough the developers clearly said that he´s definately dead), a clone of the Joker, a hallucination of Batman thanks to the Scarecrow´s fear toxin, Clayface and let´s not forget the theory where Alfred goes crazy. Maybe one of these theories gets close but on the other hand it could be a new character, let´s not forget that in the Arkham games there are several new character introduced so this Arkham Knight could be one of them!
