Invading the game of someone else
No I´m not talking about hacking, eventhough in a way you could consider it as something like that. This is something developers think is interesting for some exciting gameplay. So imagine you playing in the story mode and then out of nowhere someone you don´t know invades your single player adventure and then you´ll have to deal with this invader. Of course this doesn´t have to be a problem, but do we really want something like this?
In games like Resident Evil 6 and Dark Souls you already saw these invading options, of course you could turn that off in settings so you don´t have to suffer through this annoying bullshit if you don´t want to. But the real question is, why would you put stuff like this in the game? When I play Resident Evil I don´t want other players to invade my game, I want to enjoy the game and shoot some zombies (or whatever those other things are called in RE 6). Am I the only one that feels that way? I seriously doubt that, because I´ve heard a lot of people asking about how you turn that option off, which means a lot of people aren´t interested in having other players invade their game!
It does raise the question what type of person would do that? Who would want to invade the game of someone else and try to ruin his or her game experience? I can understand if someone tries something like that out of curiosity but what about people who do this on a regular basis? I mean they don´t invade the game of someone else to make friends and they´re not helping the other player, no it´s quite the opposite where they try to stop you or kill you in your own game. I can´t help but think that only a douchebag would enjoy something like that, because I can´t see why any normal person would enjoy ruining the game for someone else. I don´t have an urge to enter the game of a stranger and then ruin his or her game, I´d feel horrible about it and since I don´t want people to do that to me so why would I want to do that to others?
Watchdogs will have this option as well where you invade the game of someone else, an option I won´t be using to be honest with you. It seems developers are still under the impression that this is fun, that people want this. But I don´t think that´s true, sure there could be some people that enjoy this but how often would they do that anyway? I mean if you spend most of the time in the game of someone else then you don´t make much progress in your own game! I really think it´s time for something new, this invade the game of someone else thing is lame and I seriously hope it doesn´t have a long life in the world of games!
