The Xbox One strikes back!

After months of complaints and to be honest not such smart moves we finally hear something positive from Microsoft when it comes to the Xbox One! They´re going to sell the Xbox One without the Kinect and that will save you a hundred Dollars/Euros (yes the Euro is worth more than the Dollar but somehow they keep the numbers the same). This is great news for everyone that has been waiting for the Xbox One to drop in price and now you don´t have to deal with the Kinect either, this is excellent news! But that´s not all! Now that the Kinect is being pushed aside they´re thinking of boosting the power of the Xbox One so it could possibly become the most powerful console, well up to this point I guess. This is just speculation at this point and to be honest I don´t really care about such things, but it´s nice that the Xbox One is finally making a fist and shows something good instead of bad!


So everyone will buy the Xbox One now? Hah I don´t think so! A lot of people that chose the Playstation 4 will most likely stick with that console and why wouldn´t they? It´s a good console and if it works for you then why would you switch back? Of course some Xbox One exclusives could persuade some people to buy the Xbox One as well, especially if it drops in price because that´s never a bad thing when you want to motivate people to buy your console. But I do think that the Xbox One might now finally be a worthy rival of the Playstation 4 and hopefully this will keep a lot of gamers on the Xbox One. For those that haven´t bought a next generation console then now it becomes an interesting decision which one you´ll buy, maybe you´ll still stick with the Playstation 4 but I think that the Xbox One is looking better every time I hear some good news about it!


Do you really need Kinect? Apparently Microsoft says no, because if you´re going to sell your console without Kinect then it will stay an optional thing instead of something you actually need. Which is a good thing, because I don´t like the Kinect and I never planned on getting one to be honest! It´s great that future games will be playable without the Kinect and I hope it stays this way for a long time!


The Xbox One will launch in a lot of countries in September (these are countries that only have acces to the Xbox One if they import one) so we´ll see what kind of effect this news will have then. Of course it´s up to the gamers what they want to buy and I doubt that anyone that really wants to buy the Playstation 4 will now suddenly buy the Xbox One. But I´m happy with this news and I´ll definately want to buy the Xbox One in September!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything.
