Looking back at.....Bioshock!
When I first heard about Bioshock I wasn´t that interested, I thought it would be just another first person shooter. But the more I learned about this game the more I wanted to give it a try and I did, with no regrets!
In Bioshock you find yourself after a crash by a door that leads to an underwater city, ok this probably sounds silly but yes that´s how it goes. At first things seem ok but soon you learn that something went wrong there, the disfigured residents will start to attack you and you have to make it through disturbing areas where chaos is written all over it! At first you have to figh with typical weapons you find in a first person shooter, but Bioshock gives you something else as well!
Plasmids are powers you can obtain and that allows you to cause chaos and destruction among your enemies. You can burn them, freeze them, shock them, heal yourself or even teleport. One of the biggest threats you´ll face is the big daddy, this is a protector of a little sister, and he´ll be a pain to kill if you´re not prepared. But the reward is often that you get to either save or harvest a little sister, this gives you ADAM (this allows you to buy new plasmids) and it´s very useful! This harvest or save choice will influence the ending, because if you only harvest one little sister you´ll be branded as evil and if you save all of them you´re good. Somehow I pulled it off to find every little sister and save them all, which means I got less ADAM (saving a little sister gives you less ADAM that harvesting them). But if you save several little sisters you get a bonus, so don´t worry about not getting enough because being good in this game actually pays off!
This game became very populair, why is that? It´s true, this game is pretty populair. Somehow a lot of girls also enjoy these Bioshock games, I can´t really say why but I guess maybe some people just enjoy this dark environment and perhaps these cool powers make it even more fun to play for girls. Anyway Bioshock 2 was a game everyone expected but it was different, because you didn´t play as the main character in the first game and somehow everything seemed a bit different eventhough it took place in the same underwater city (Rapture). Bioshock Infinite took things to a whole new level, literally! It takes place in a city that floats in the sky, which seems a bit silly but it looks awesome! It also takes place before the first two Bioshock games. I won´t spoil anything about the game but somehow the games are all connected or at least that´s what the developers are trying to do. I don´t know if everyone likes the way these games have been going but I must admit that I like these games and I hope we´ll get more Bioshock games in the future!
