Mass Effect 4 is coming?

Have you played the first three Mass Effect games just like me? Well that´s a good thing because I´ll be talking about those and there will be spoilers, so if you haven´t played any or some of those Mass Effect games you might want to stop reading here!


I´ve heard a lot of rumors about Mass Effect 4, after everything that happened in the Mass Effect trilogy it was quite clear that we´re done with Commander Shepard. I think the developers also mentioned that Shepard is gone, so what can we expect from a new Mass Effect game? At first there were rumors of Mass Effect becoming a mmorpg, but that rumor didn´t last long because now it seems we´re getting a new story. If this will be a single player or co-op story is unclear, actually a lot is unclear about this new game. But that doesn´t keep any of the fans from speculating!


So if it´s not about Commander Shepard then who? Maybe there is another human that will play a big role in the next game, perhaps one of the companions of Commander Shepard will now star in his or her own story and then there is always a chance that you can create your own unique character like Bioware allowed you to do in Dragon Age: Origins. I don´t mind a new story with new companions, but I must admit that I´ve grown attached to some of the companions in the first three Mass Effect games. I mean Garrus is clearly the best friend of Shepard, Liara was always the love interest for my Shepard and Tali was that awesome friend with whom you could talk about anything! I´d really hate to let them go and make new friends, but that´s how it goes in life sometimes so maybe it´s not such a bad thing if that happens in a game. I mean I can always play the Mass Effect trilogy if I want to see them again!


Unfortunately there is very little known about the new Mass Effect game, just recently it was clear that they´re working on Mass Effect 4 but that´s about it. I don´t mind that they keep things secretive, but sometimes it would be nice to have some information. You know something to look forward to or to get excited about! But it seems we´ll have to be patient and wait until more information about the game is available.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. When I play a game with my friends then I'm not being serious nor am I serious when I start up some random multiplayer match. Sure it's nice to win but it's not everything! Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet!
