Sticking with your old console
Usually I move on to the next console as soon as possible, but I really like my Xbox 360 so I don´t see a reason to rush to the Xbox One. Why would I? There are still plenty of games available for these ´older´ consoles and developers still make new games that are also playable on the ´older´ consoles. So why would you move on to the next generation console when you´re happy with the one you have now?
Of course there are also several games that are only available on the new generation of consoles, for example Dead Rising 3 and Ryse (both exclusive for the Xbox One). Maybe you´re not intersted in these games but it´s the start of what´s to come, more and more games will only be released for the new generation of consoles. Which means if you want to keep playing new games then you´ll have to move on to that new console sooner or later!
But things are still looking good so far, a lot of popular games are available on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. Which means that people that don´t want to move on just yet can keep playing new games on their ´old´ console. Especially people that have their Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 for only a couple of years might be happy to hear that they don´t have to buy a new console again. But sooner or later you´ll have to move on, that´s just the way it is and if you don´t then the newest and latest games will be out of your reach.
A lot of people are convinced that graphics, harddrive size or power determine which console is the best. But I think it´s the games that make a console good. Because no matter how impressive your console is, when there are only bad games available for that console then who cares about what your console is capable of! This also means that as long as the games you want to play are available on your ´old´ console that there isn´t really a need to move on to a new console just yet!
So if you´re sticking to your Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 then don´t worry, this year is still full of new releases for your console! Of course the graphics will be a bit less good, if you care about such things, but you´ll be able to play the same games as people on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. If you´re still quite fond of your Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 then you can stick with that console for at least another year, which is good news in my opinion!
