Who still plays Fortnite PvE?
For some time now I've noticed how empty PvE is Fortnite, with the Halloween event things were a bit better but now at the end of that event it just feels empty again. Which sucks when you want to try and make progress in the game and there doesn't seem to be anyone online. Most people that play Fortnite these days hang around in PvP and that worries me a bit because when the majority hangs around in PvP then I get the feeling that PvE will slowly disappear which is a shame.
Nobody plays PvE?
I wouldn't say that, there are some people that play it but I bet they're all over the place. For example some people might still be in Stonewood, the first area, while other might already be in Canny Valley, the third area, and that makes it difficult to team up. I'm still in Plankerton, the second area, and I have to deal with an annoying mission, evacuate the shelter, which really sucks if you have to do it on your own. What's worse is that I don't have to complete one of these, I have to complete two of these missions. Yeah that's not going to be annoying at all! There are some people that still play PvE but if you want to team up with others you'll have to hope for a friendly and helpful person in the chat or try your luck in the Fortnite forum. But that's ridiculous that this is what it takes to get some other people in your match, what happened to the majority of the players that used to play Fortnite? Oh right they either left or they moved to PvP?
PvP is killing PvE in Fortnite?
It seems that way to me, because I hear everyone being excited about Fortnite PvP and I hardly hear anyone about Fortnite PvE. So I think that it's safe to assume that the majority is no longer interested in Fortnite PvE. The main reason for that is probably because Fortnite PvP is free and Fortnite PvE isn't, it will be free in 2018 but that doesn't really help you right now. As much fun as Fortnite PvP is for some people I think it's wrong for the developers to abandon PvE that much, for example nothing is being done about some of these annoying missions. Try to beat a repair the shelter or evacuate the shelter mission on your own, it's not impossible but it's definitely not intended for solo play. I wish that they made these missions more solo friendly or give you multiple ways of dealing with them so you can at least get some more progress in the missions to eventually move on to the next zone. Right now I bet a lot of people are stuck and just give up on the game.
Things will get better?
With the events that come out each month it does seem that PvE comes back to life every now and then. Maybe not as many people as there used to be but at least enough people to get things going again. I think things will get better in 2018 once PvE is for free, that should attract a lot of new players and hopefully that will help current players forward as well. Unfortunately there are no guarantees and it could mean you have to wait for several months to get some real progress, unless you feel confident enough to make it on your own. For me it's just not fun playing Fortnite PvE on your own and it's difficult to find other helpful and useful people to play with. I hope it's not the end for Fortnite PvE but right now I don't see a positive light for my story progression.
