YouTube adventures -84- Just trying to help

There are all kinds of videos out there on YouTube, some try to be funny while others try to amaze you and there are even videos that educate you. But videos that don't always get the spotlight that much but are very important are the helpful videos, for example achievement/trophy guides or videos that help you pronounce certain words. I don't think these YouTubers are on YouTube for the fame and money, I think that they're...

Just trying to help.

When I watched my first videos on YouTube I watched trailers for movies and games, but I quickly discovered that people also had achievement guide videos that made it a lot easier to get certain achievements. In the old days, actually it's the 90's, I had to look it up online or call Nintendo support if I was stuck in a game. I remember calling so many times when I was playing the legend of Zelda: Majora's mask because I was really lazy and didn't feel like figuring things out. These days you can just look up a walkthrough if you're stuck in a game and if you need help with an achievement or trophy then there are a lot of videos out there as well. So things definitely have improved and no matter how well someone can explain it to you on the phone it works ten times better if you actually see someone do the thing you need to do in a video, it has helped me so many times in a game.

A couple of years ago I started making my first achievement guide video, I had no real motivation behind it other than just trying to help. Because if you do it for the glory or the money then you're kind of missing the point of these videos. I know how it feels to be stuck in a game or to constantly try and get an achievement and fail every time. It sucks so much! So having someone out there that wants to help is amazing. I don't care about the money or about the fame, I just hope that my low quality videos at least have some helpful information in them. It's not that every video I make is an achievement guide but I have made quite a lot of those last year and also this year.

It's weird though that some people give you dislikes for an achievement or trophy guide video, that really makes you wonder what kind of person would do that. I mean someone is out there helping you and you thank them by disliking the video? That's just dumb and really sad actually. But I guess not everyone is going to thankful or happy with the guide and then there are just people that have nothing better to do than disliking every video they watch. I just want to say that I'm grateful for all the people out there that have made achievement/trophy guide videos and people that have made other helpful videos. It shows that there are people out there that care and want to help which gives me hope that humanity isn't going down the shitter.
