I hate Monday: When a game is exclusive to one console

You see this new awesome game, it looks really cool and you really want to play it. But then you find out that this game is exclusive to a console you don't have. So what do you do? Do you buy the console just for that game or do you just accept your loss and hope that maybe one day the game will appear on pc or on your console as well? Sometimes I wait for the impossible to happen and sometimes it actually happens, for example the Sims 4 coming to my console was really cool and eventhough I kind of expected it somehow it still took three years for that to actually happen!

Exclusive games suck?

Not really, I mean it sucks that the game is exclusive but usually the game itself doesn't suck. Just look at the last of us, such an amazing game but unfortunately exclusive for the Playstation 4, which sucks for the Xbox One gamers out there. But that doesn't make the last of us a bad game, it just makes the whole exclusive part annoying to people who don't have the Playstation 4. So in a way it's not the game that sucks but the developers for making an exclusive game or Sony for constantly pumping money into this exclusive bullshit. Don't think that this makes Microsoft the better one, oh hell no! Cuphead is a good example of an exclusive game for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 gamers were left out in the cold with that game. Which sucks because I know the feeling and you can't expect people to have both consoles and why would you have both consoles? Just because of some exclusive games? Fuck that! I did that once where I bought the Gamecube just to be able to play the legend of Zelda: the ocarina of time. I love that game but eventually you move on and you have to let go of certain games and also certain consoles. At that time I had three consoles at it was crazy! I can't play on all three at once so you constantly have to switch between them, which is quite frustrating when you only have one tv. So yeah it sucks when a game is exclusive to one console but that doesn't make it a bad game. It's often the opposite, the game is so much fun that some people can't resist buying the console it's for which is a bit foolish in my opinion.

No more exclusive games?

That would be great, unfortunately I think we're going to see more and more exclusive games. The console war pretty much forces this to be more and more of a thing and the only people truly suffering under this are the players. Yeah you know the people that these companies (Microsoft and Sony) are making the games for. Sony even says for the players, but in some of their actions I see none of that. They're just out there, just like Microsoft, to make some money on some fools throwing money at them. I know because I'm one of those fools and that's ok, as long as you have acces to all the games. But unfortunately you don't have acces to all games, the exclusives will force some people to buy another console or for pc gamers to get a console as well. That doesn't seem like a bad thing but it's ridiculous you have to buy another console just to be able to play the game you're interested in. How is that right? It seems like some real bullshit to shake some more money out of people who already throw so much at these big companies. I'm mad at Microsoft and Sony but also mad at myself, why do I and other people keep doing this? Why do we keep buying these games and sometimes even consoles? Is it so important to be able to play every game? Is it such a bad thing to ignore some of that? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. The truth is that this hurts the gaming community, it turns one console player against another console player in this super epic console war that is really just a big joke. Why can't we just get along and play all the games that are out there. Enough with the exclusive bullshit and just enjoy playing all the games. Oh that would be nice if that would be true, unfortunately it never will be...
